Beach Club Villas or Boardwalk Villas?

We are planning a trip for next spring and are considering staying at a one bedroom at the Beach Club or Boardwalk villas. We will have me, my wife, my not-so-little anymore 11-year old daughter and her friend. We considered two rooms at the Beach Club (our favorite resort), but figured that we could do better money-wise with a discounted 1 bedroom than with two discounted standard Beach Club rooms. I check mousesavers.com daily and will reserve rooms as soon as the codes come out. We have set the Beach Club villas as our first choice, with the Boardwalk villas as a second choice. Does anyone have any comments as to room locations or services at either resort? Also, does housekeeping work for nightly-stay guests the same way as it does for the DVC point members?

Beach Club Villas will probably be sold out to DVC members by next spring, leaving only a few rooms for CRO to rent. BWV has been sold out to members for 2 or 3 years. The chance of getting a code discount may not be that good. I would try to rent points from a member, for weeknights it will be much cheaper. Daily housekeeping is not included when you rent points, it's $30 per cleaning in a 1 bedroom. If you get a room through CRO, it's included daily like other resorts.

Hi, I agree with your choice, try for BCV first then the BWV. The pool at the BC is a great pool, and the girls will love it. Also, at the BC there is a character breakfast that includes Minnie, Chip & Dale, and Goofy. I have stayed at both, and the pool view at the BCV is nice, also has a canal just past the pool. You can also request a view of Epcot.
If you book the room thru CRO, you will have daily housekeeping, but if you were to rent points from a DVC member, there would not be daily housekeeping.

Since it's just the two of you and the two girls, a one bedroom is plenty of room to get a sense of privacy. The bedroom has a king bed, a jacuzzi tub which is separate altogether from the shower. Even the toilet is in a separate "closet".

Also, I also recommend visiting the DVC Rent/Trade board and check into renting points. We did last fall and it was by far the best resort stay we've ever had. Granted you don't get daily housekeeping, but it really wasn't missed. Also, as a previous poster mentioned, if you stick with a Sunday-Thursday stay, the cost will be much more affordable than if you add a Friday or Sat night to your stay. We chose to stay in ASMu for our Saturday night and then had WDW transfer our luggage for us to BCV on Sunday morning.

Good luck.
