Beach Club Villas or Boardwalk Villas?

Interested in staying at both of them but I had a few questions.

1.)DVC rooms at the Boardwalk, where are they located.
2.)Beach Club rooms on resort points calculator don't list a view preference. Aren't there different point costs for the different views?

3.)Boardwalk pool, is it fun for a 8/11/14 year old boys?
4.)Where is Stormalong Bay? Is that at the Yacht Club or Beach Club? Does it get crowded during the summer months?

Thanks for the info!

1. If you are looking at BWV from the parking lot, the DVC rooms are to the left and the hotel rooms are to the right.
2. There is no preference views at BCV.
3. DGS at the time was 6 until mid-teens loved the slide.
4. I do not go during the summer so I can not answer but Stormalong Bay is considered the best pool at any of the resorts. It is located between YC and BC.

1. At the BWV, you have a view choice with a point difference. If you book standard view, you face the entrance. If you are far away from the lobby, but still on that side, the views include a pond and the canal. Boardwalk or preferred/pool views are the same number of points, but the views can be vastly different. Boardwalk view means your balcony or patio faces the boardwalk, but preferred could mean garden, or a pool, or it seems to me once that we viewed the supports of the clown pool.

2. BCV does not have view distinctions.

3. Kids either like or don't like the Keister slide.

4. Your DS would probably like SAB. It's between the Beach and Yacht club. It does get crowded during the summer. They are strict about letting you in. Every person must show a room key to get in. We were there last week, and we always did find chairs to use, even when we got there at 3PM.

We own at both, and if it's swimming weather, I would always book BCV if I have the points. During other times, I save points and book standard at BWV!

Your kids are at the age that they would probably really love Stormalong Bay. Just a word of caution that you should be comfortable with them being out of your view. The slide is actually across the walking path that goes around the lake. And the lazy river ride is winding (as you would expect). There is no way to keep track of 3 boys at once. As long as yours are good swimmers and can be safe on their own, you and they will have a great time at Stormalong Bay.
The kids in our family love Keister Coaster (the slide at BWV) and I am much more comfortable because I can see them at all times. But some people don't like clowns and it creeps them out to come shooting out of the clown's mouth. And the BWV pool is certainly just a regular pool, nothing as elaborate as Stormalong Bay at Beach Club.
Both are great fun. Enjoy!

to BCV b/c we own there. SAB is awesome! My kids DD17 & DS 11 can't wait to go back! My DH & I just want to float in the lazy river! And, of course, Beaches & Cream is right there! Can't pass up a "No Way Jose" (chocoate & peanut butter sundae)!

We love the fact that we are just across from the Boardwalk with easy access to ESPN and the nightly entertainment, but have the tranquility of the Beach Club! Plus, the walk to Epcot at night for dinner is great! We've never had a bad view or room at BCV. We just usually ask for higher floor and near, but not right on top of, the elevator. Have seen Illuminations many times as a bonus!

On a little side note, we pool hopped to BWV last trip when we actually stayed at VWL, and our DS thought the clown pool was boring and the big clown face slide did nothing for him at all. That is just our opinon. You do what is best for you!

Thanks for your responses. We own at AKV and have stayed there 3 times, SSR 2 times and OKW 1 time. We really want to try something new.

Can anyone direct me to a map of BCV? Since you can't book a view, are all the views the same?

Yeah, they are pretty much non-views.

We own at BWV and have stayed at YC/BC/BCV many times...Stormalong Bay is the best pool experience. The pool at BWV is IMHO the least interesting DVC pool.

By the way, BWV is our least favorite DVC resort. Too busy, parking too far away from the resort (we always have a car), long, long corridors (only one elevator bank) and not very many places to eat right at the BW. You can go to Epcot to eat, but it's closer to BCV than BWV. BCV is quieter (behind the BC) with very convenient parking.

We prefer BWV over BCV. It is an even walk to DHS and Epcot. The clown pool does not get nearly as busy as SAB. Quicker to walk to the restaurants at the Boardwalk. A Boardwalk view is wonderfual. We are happy to stay at either though. Enjoy your trip/

I think we are going to do a split stay. We are going to do 4 nights at AKV and 4 nights at BCV. My kids really want to check out SAB. Thanks for all your responses. I still would like to try BWV some day!

BCV are behind the BC itself and not on the lake, so there are no "wonderful" views. You might get what's called a "woodlands view," which is vegetation in the general direction of Epcot, or a "pool view" which overlooks the quiet pool (not Stormalong Bay). If you get the latter view, you want a room fairly high up to get away from kids shouting at each other in the pool after some members of your party have gone to bed. This is the trade-off at BCV: on one hand, the views are nothing much. On the other hand, you get a lovely laid-back atmosphere, an easy walk to Epcot (great for suppers and for escaping the park after fireworks without having to wait for a bus), and the best hotel pool in WDW.

I would love to stay at BCV after a visit on our last trip to check it out. I am a pool person but DH is not - but he LOVES roaming around Epcot. We own at AKV. Is there any time that it is possible to get a 1 bedroom at BC when it is also swim//pool season? I know F&W is impossible, but we are very flexible with vacation time since I am a retired teacher and DH is self employed. I do not want to go in July,August or September due to extreme heat. Any suggestions?

April weather is lovely. Work around the Easter weeks crowd and you might be able to book at 7 months. Good luck!

April, May or June if you don't want Summer (I think June is as hot as September, though). The rest of the year will have "iffy" swimming weather or be difficult to book.
