We stayed at Beachclub Villas sept 21-25, 2014. Studio room.

It was so very shabby.

Stained sofa, there were stains all over it

Was NOT worth the 15 DVC points per night. :furious:
Just because its in a good location doesn't mean it can pass itself off as a "deluxe"'DVC resort in this state.

The place was just dirty. :headache: I should have just stayed at BLT.

I hope you showed those photos to someone. This is really discouraging. Once, I had a similar room, took pictures, tracked down the head of maintenance, and told him that "If that stuff was for sale on Ebay as used, I'd return it because it's terrible!" The next year, I had that same room and it was all spiffy clean. But it's so discouraging that it seems that they wait for people to complain about the issues before they do anything. And since my problem was about 5 years ago, it's a shame that it hasn't been done yet.

Oh, no. :sad2:

We are staying there in December. And it is suppose to be our "Welcome Home" visit.

If the hair dryer blows up in flames, everyone is going to hear about it.

I would email every one of those pictures to
dvcmembersatisfactionteam@disneyvacationclub.com

They need to know what a state the BCV are in. That is awful.

We used to stay there all the time and loved it. Have really only stayed elsewhere for two reasons:
1. it is hard as heck to get in during the F&W Festival for the length of time we want to go since it is not our home resort, and
2. we got used to liking monorail resorts with having our son in a stroller.

But since we are getting out of the stroller stage we were thinking of going back to BCV or BWV. If BCV is this much of a mess, it might be back to BWV instead.

We are on our way home and while the customer service and pool were superb, our actual room 452 was in a very similar state as the one described. We called the maid for a sheet to cover the couch because it was too yucky for me to let my kids sit on and they never even offered to come in and clean it.

Furniture was badly scratched and the carpets were worn.

Hope that the rehab is SOON!

Now I know why it was so easy to get a 2 bd for Dec 27th. If my room looks like that, I'm requesting my points back. I expect wear, but not that level of neglect.

A refurb is coming real soon for Beach Club!

"Guest Room Renovations will take place through August 22, 2015. Rooms will be refurbished with new hard and soft goods. Guests will not be accommodated in the affected areas but it is possible that some noise could travel while work is in progress (between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily). Some public areas are also expected to be renovated. The resort will remain open throughout this work."

See http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/rehab.htm

Because it is both a hard and soft goods refurb, they should be replacing pretty much everything. Guests with a reservation before September 2015 can ask for a renovated room!

I have actually heard of people mention this exact room and it's condition. Studio? Pool view? We are checking in on Nov 29. Plan to get there early and if we get this room I will not accept it. Thanks for the reminder.

Our 2 BR was great last month. Not one complaint! Sorry you had a bad room! Glad to hear they will be fixing things up.

That is referring to the hotel side. Villas are supposed to be coming and rumored to be after the hotel side but still no absolutely definite timing that I've heard.

Oh wait - we were planning on heading back there in May. That's when it will happen!

We just got back from beach club and I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of our room. We stayed in a 1 BR, room 345 and besides a few dings here and there, the room was in really good condition. I was especially pleased with how clean it was.

We stayed in (i think) room 458 in early Sept and it was in fine condition given its age. There are certainly going to be rooms worse off than others but that doesn't mean the entire resort needs a rehab (though for decor's sake I'm glad its getting one). Just like only a few rooms being good doesn't mean the entire resort wouldn't need a rehab. A little less hyperbole goes a long way :)

New DVC member. 1st DVC stay. 1st post. Just back from 8 night stay at BCV. Was very apprehensive after reading some prior posts about the conditions there but was pleasantly surprised. Stayed in room 538 (a 1-bedroom). Room was very clean. Some wear & tear showed on the furniture and cabinets but nothing that would make me not stay there again. Shower pressure was weak. Hall rugs were worn but again not a disaster by any measure. I'm sure others have had worse room conditions but all I can comment on is what I saw and I'm really not an easy-going type of guy.

We have felt BCV rooms were shabby for a few years now. It is always disappointing to walk past a regular BC room and see how much nicer they are

I've stayed in the BC rooms and though they looked nicer from a distance when you got up close they were rather shabby too. What I had at BC was really the worst condition room I've had at any Disney resort.

Perhaps it's all saying something about BC/BCV maintenance. Or else about how busy that resort is. Or maybe the quality of materials used at that location. :confused3

Left BCV this morning to check into AK Kidani. After reading for months how awful the room conditions were there, I was nervous and warned the other 3 in my travel party repeatedly what to expect. First pleasant surprise was the 2 bedroom villa being ready at 10:30 am check in. Second pleasant surprise was the excellent condition of our room. 252. We were all quite pleased. We even LOOKED for things wrong given the reports over the last few months. We found a scuff on an arm of a wooden chair in the living room and pretty much nothing else. Loved our room and our stay a lot. Yes there was some wear on some of the hallway carpeting, but like a few others posted, nothing as dreadful as expected reading these posts lately. Very happy there. Loving our room at Kidani too, our first time here. Fwiw, first two nights at BLT one bedroom and excellent condition there as well.

I will send the pics on to member services some time this week.

We did 16 days of resort hopping this last trip sept '14 (all studios) so this aint my first rodeo....

GFV: great as you'd expect
BCV: garbage
AKL Jambo : lovely, well kept, loved it & will be back
BLT: lovely, well kept

We really wanted to love BCV but with all the faults, I am not going back there. We have also stayed BWV which were also a tad worn.

The BCV hall way carpets are dirty, the balcony furniture was shabby, cobwebs & grime on balcony.

I don't care how nice the furnishings are, but when the hairdryer bursts into flames in my hands, and the cupboard door nearly splits my head open I think there is a need to point out not all is well at BCV.
We did report it to front desk, they sent someone up to take (didn't replace) hair dryer and screw door back on. No sorry, no follow up..nothing.

I spent 60 DVC points on a garbage room, I am a tad annoyed.

Exaggerations are in the eye of the beholder..or in the hands of the flaming hairdryer..or on the bleeding head of the fallen cupboard.....

but thanks anyway.:laundy:

I had a studio at BCV in August in which a hinge was broken on the cubbard door like that. It was on the first floor near the lobby. It was fixed after I called. I did not notice any other problems, and loved the location and the stay.
We have since stayed in a 1 bedroom there and it all was fine.

We once had a 2 bedroom that had been trashed, literally by the previous guests. We know because we had been given a text that the room was ready when obviously it was not. OP, I think you will get some other satisfaction. Just because we had been given the text and saw the room, we were sent a complimentary gift basket of goodies. You had serious problems for sure.
