Beach Club Villas - My Thoughts

eating dinner on the balcony sounds perfect!!:cloud9: Can you do this in the 1 beds at OKW also??:thumbsup2

The studios have small balconies that fit one chair, so you could at least have coffee, the full balconies are in the 1 & 2 bedrooms, encased between the living room and the master w/ access from both

If there is a chance I will get a balcony with no chairs to sit out in the morning and evening then that will totally make up my mind NOT to buy there!!:thumbsup2AKV(jambo),BCV,BWV all have balconies w/ chairs (most have 2) and the small type side table. The bottom floors have 2 chairs & a small side table as well

I do love a balcony!

Sitting on the balcony with my morning coffee is a wonderful time of the day. I really enjoy this time when I am on vacation.

I wish the Beach Club Villas had bigger balconies. Ours, on the 3rd floor did have two chairs and a small table but the took up most of the floor space. if two people were out there getting up and moving around was a bit of a dance.

I was a bit spoiled on this vacation. The week before staying at the BCV we stayed in our 2 bedroom timeshare in Naples. The balcony there was a large 30' screened in lanai that was big enough for 5 of us to enough at the same time.

I just have to accept that Disney's DCV timeshares are smaller.

Okay, I LIKE the bathroom and all those crazy doors. We have a family of 5 that usually stays in a 1 b/r and it works great for us. When were at AKV last year (not Kidani) it was harder, as the entire bathroom was one room, so only one person at a time.

At BCV the toilet is in a separate room, plus there is the second sink area by the tub. We just keep our MBR door closed, as well as the door between the two sink areas closed, and it is like 2 separate bathrooms. My dh can be shaving at the shower-sink, another child can use the potty and change in the closed off toilet room, while I and any other child can be using the tub-sink area, all at the same time. Works for us, YMMV.

Not as thrilled about the BWV since their toilet is not in a separate room. At WLV it is though. Looking forward to trying Kidani and BLT.

We are thinking of adding on at BWV purely for that Boardwalk view - are they just standing room only or do they all have chairs??:confused3

There are 2 chairs and a little table out there. Don't listen to what half these mopes say. You can't have a square dance out there but you can definitely sit down and enjoy the priceless view.

Short, to the point, I like it!:lmao:

I should have clarified that the first time I saw the BW balconies I was standing on the BW looking up at them. Probably skewed the size a bit. Not trying to be a mope, just remembering a funny thing (I thought)!:)

... when the time comes that it is just my wife and I going, staying in a studio will be just fine. Our kids are teenagers now and say they want to come along forver with us ... we will see how long that last. :)

Gary, I hate to tell you this, but you will NEVER shake them! Our kids are 24, 26 and 28(see picture at left) and they will be with us next week at THV. The only difference is that now I make them "pony up" and contribute to the expenses. They whine a bit, but they know they would never afford a vacation like this on their own. :thumbsup2

This post makes me VERY happy. Sending our twins off to college next year and feeling a bit blue (but excited for them). Nice to hear your children are still wanting to vacation with you as adults.

We also have a DS age 25 and DD age 21(almost 22) and they still come with us. The four of us will be there in January. We have taken girlfriends and boyfriends with us on various trips also. DH and I are going for a few days by ourselves in October, and they really don't want to hear too much about our upcoming trip without them. We also will miss them, but know we'll have a great time with them in Jan.

Cee, I love your reply :lmao:! This is what I'm looking forward to - I hope there doesn't come a time when our kids are sick of WDW. Our DS10 has even mentioned times in the future when we can take his children to Disney (talk about projecting!). It must change as they get older and the kids go off and do their own thing at the parks, etc.- so I guess it will feel like my DH and I are "alone" at times.

OP, glad you enjoyed your BCV trip overall. We don't own another timeshare so we have nothing to compare it to as far as size goes but the villas do have little quirks about them - makes you wonder what the designers were thinking .

thank you everyone for your replies about the OKW and BWV balconies :thumbsup2- I do love to sit out and the OKW ones sound heavenly!!:lovestruc I also LOVE the boardwalk views so I guess it might have to be an add on there!!:goodvibes

We just returned from an 8 day stay at the BWV in a 2BR. There were 7 of us. I can honestly say it was not that bad. I have always wished the master had a full bath and agree with everyone else that the configuration is not the best design. We looked at BLT and while I loved the fact that the MBR had a full bath, and the 1BR can sleep 5, I found the whole place just too detached and sterile. I do not see myself staying there any time in the near future.

For the next while ... (Next March & next summer) it will be back to just 4 or at most 5 of us in our DVC villa.

8 in the two bedroom was just a little too crowded. Disney's DVC just don't seem to be as big as the other timeshares we have stayed in.

Don"t count on the kids not wanting to come. Mine are still coming with us and they are 26, 24, and 18.

They will always be welcome, and I do hope they always want to come along.

We had 8 in a dedicated 2BR at VWL and didn't find it crowded at all. Five adults and three children, ages 3, 4 & 5. I could see it being problematic with teens, but we had no issues at all. I do agree about the table, but we only used it for breakfast and snacks, so it wasn't a problem. We also had two balconies, and frankly we weren't in the unit enough to where the size bothered anyone.

This is our problem. We actually use the units when we have company. We cook lots of dinners and assorted meals. We found it (dedicated 2 BR) crowded with just 4 adults.
