They look like they take money, but they are free to guests of the BCV, like all the DVC resorts. Are the machines coin operated?

Wow, really? I didn't know ow the laundry was free? All DVC resorts have free laundry rooms? I was thinking of doing a couple of loads. Very cool.
Yes, it's always been that way so the studios have access to laundry. You provide or purchase the little boxes of detergent though vs it being provided in the larger villas that have the washers and dryers in the room.
Stayed there in March, and had no idea there were laundry facilities on the 4th floor (now I know, and knowing is half the battle - yo joe). I dragged our clothes all the way out to the laundry facilities by the quiet pool.

That is what we do - half the packing needed. We were just going to bring laundry "pods" of detergent - so that is no problem. We usually just bring enough clothes with us (flying SWA and ME combine for not worrying about bringing LOTS of clothes) but with the hot sticky weather I was thinking of wearing two outfits a day and then washing 1/2 way through the trip.
Don't forget, you can check the laundry rooms without going to them now:
