i have friends staying at BCV, in a 1 bedroom, using my DVC/BCV points. They are not DVC members.

Which of the following statements is not correct?

They will have full use of BCV facilities including stormalong Bay and Beaches and Cream, just like a DVC member.

They will not have to pay a $95 Transportation FEe(This fee is for only people that trade into BCV, thru II trade)

THey will have the same privileges at BCV, like DVC owner, like

free dvd usage+
discounts throughout WDW- like???
+What else, should i have mentioned??

They will have

Full use of facilities at BC/YC/BCV - I am not sure if they will be able to workout room hop since I think you need your blue member card for that

They do not have to pay a $95 exchange fee - you made the ressie for DVC with DVC points

They will have priviledges but I think they need a blue member card for restaurant and other related discounts (someone can correct me pls if I am wrong here)

thanks

I have never been asked for my Blue Card, once?when getting a discount at WDW.

do the ask it of you?

Should I start carrying it??

I think my friends, will get a card, for a room key and charging, that will say,DVC member, even though they are not?
is this not correct??

We have been asked about 15% of the time so it is hit and miss - not sure what would have happened if we only had our resort DVC stamped room and charge card as opposed to our blue card.

Your guests will get room/charge keys with DVC member stamped on it - when we rented at OKW we received DVC member stamped room keys

We carry our blue cards just in case we get asked

thanks

You need to make sure you give the names of all the people staying in the room to member services.

We have always had to show our blue DVC member card when using it for discounts at the restaurants.

I'm not sure what the room keys will say...they will be entitled to all the amenities of the resort that a member would, but I don't know about the extra discounts, like at the restaurants since they won't have a member card. Why don't you call member services and check it out.

I have been asked only a couple of times for our blue member cards, but I have always pointed out that it is on my room card. I have never had a problem with that. Even when traveling with friends & family, they too get the DVC member notation on their card. I always point out for them to remember to use it. This holds true for discounts in and out of the parks. Restaurants, Quest, House of Blues....... ect.

hope it helps

We are going next week to BCV. DS and DIL are also going. I called MS to inquire about them getting discounts and was told that they do not. They are not DVC members. If they are eating with us and we have our cards, they may get the discount, but without us, I was told no. Now another MS person may give a different answer. But I've seen several places where they are encouraging or requiring members to show their blue card. As a guest of the resort, they will be allowed to swim at SAB, use transportation, etc. According to the guidebook, they are not entitled to free use of exercise rooms or any discounts that we DVC members receive.

I was asked for my blue member card when valet parking at BWV, even though my room key stated DVC member!

I've seen an increasing number of posts on this board the past year that indicates that the blue membership card is being asked for.

And by the way, you sure treat your friends well!! ::yes::

Something must be changing because in all of my visits the room card with DVC member on it was sufficient to get all the perks. I've been a member since 1999 and my son frequently uses my points to stay onsite and he doen't have a blue card and he even got to use the Boardwalk gym free. So this is definitely a change from standard practice.

They technically will get all privileges except the 10% of UPH passes. Truth is they will likely get that also. Print out the member privileges from the website so they can take it. It says you need either the blue card OR the room key that says member, but not both. If anyone asks for the blue card when they have a room Id tha says member, they are simply showing their ignorance.

thank you Dean!

I am glad you found it in writing........ we leave in a couple of hours......... trying to get some sleep but no such luck........
