Beach Club Villa Studio or Polynesian?

Decisions, decisions.

We stayed at the Polynesian in 2003 and loved it. It was our favorite one yet. We then stayed at Beach Club in January 2005. We LOVED the way we were able to WALK to Epcot, and we loved the burgers at Beaches and Cream.

We're going to WDW again in January, and are having a tough time deciding. The Beach Club has the Studios available for a little less than Poly, BUT, the rooms are smaller. (We loved the size of Poly.) However, Epcot and MGM are our favorite parks. On the other hand, we can walk to TTC and ride the nonstop monorail to Epcot, and it drops us in front of Futureworld, close to our favorite rides. We also enjoy the monorail to MK. I'm probably going to need to make a decision soon. We're already booked at BC (I even already canceled WL, but we won't even go there.) I know there's not really a 'wrong' decision when it comes to a WDW deluxe resort, but this is a tough one. (Oh, also, I don't think Mickey waffles are available at Beach Club, unless one does the Cape May breakfast, but I don't know if we want to do any character breakfasts, maybe only dinners.):confused3

I can't really help in your decision making process but I can give you some advice.

Close your eyes and picture yourself at each resort - imagine the best about that. Okay, so now, put that out of your mind and imagine the worst (i.e. for BCV, picture your family in the small room disappointed that there is no mickey waffle for breakfast - for Poly, imagine a delay on the monorail getting to Epcot, imagine being on the bus to MGM and standing - or of course, whatever you envision the negative points to be).

Which "worst" scenario are you happier with?

I always figure, if I'll still be happy with the worst case, then that's my choice. If the worst case would make me absolutely miserable, that's not for me.

If it were me (I've stayed at both and love both for separate reasons! ;) ), I would chose the BCV. Although I love the monorail, I do love being in the Epcot resort area more! Walking to Epcot is great, the SAB is a fabulous pool, having a kitchenette always comes in handy, and being right across from the boardwalk is always a treat! We love walking over to the Boardwalk after Epcot closes to see all the performers, play games, and maybe get a drink somewhere. We tend to go to Epcot the most when we visit, so I am sure that has something to do with it! Once little Brady gets a bit older, I am sure we will spend more time at the MK, so our resort fav's will probably change!

I think both are great choices, and you really can't go wrong! Good luck and have a great time! :goodvibes

Ask each member of your family for their input. We have stayed at the BWV and the Poly (as well as some values and mods). We are going back to WDW in January. I asked my DH, DD (13) and DS (11) where they most wanted to stay. There was absolutely no hesitation from anyone of them. All they want is to stay at the POLY!!

BCV by far for us, locations is great for the 2 parks you mention, plus SAB and the BW area, especially if on the DP-EPCOT dining is soo good.

if it is just you and your spouse - BCV. you love Epcot. Plus the kitchennett can be very handed.

if more then that the sleeper sofa while great for sitting on watching TV can be a pain if you need for sleeping.

so in this case I would go with Polyn - for the two queen beds and day bed.

We love walking to International Gateway, but there is nothing more magical than the Polynesian...and arriving at Future World on the monorail...sigh...

As for the rooms...as you know, Poly rooms are huge - must more comfy...the views, even the garden views are beautiful...we have always had a balcony at the Poly, but at BCV had a tiny walk out balcony and the view was of...well, nothing.

Go with your gut instinct...whichever one keeps pulling you back...

No matter which you choose, both are wonderful and you'll have a magical stay!!

Thank you for your replies.:)

Looks as if we might go now with the Polynesian. It's a tough decision, but we really love the monorail to the parks.:thumbsup2

Thanks again!
