Hi! We have a two bedroom villa reserved for our January visit. We'll have one member of our 6 person party who will be using a scooter. I'd love to be on a higher level so we might be able to see fireworks but I'm not sure if we need to request a lower floor for accessibility or if just requesting near an elevator is sufficient? Any suggestions are appreciated!

If you're staying at BCV, it really doesn't matter whether you're on the second floor or the top floor. Once you're on the elevator and that door closes, it's not going to matter whether that door reopens on the second floor or the top floor. I've stayed at the BCV many times with my scooter, and I've stayed in the second floor and the fifth floor. No difference-well, except that I preferred the views from the fifth floor.

If your person has a scooter, do you really need to be near the elevator?

The elevators at BCV are really, really loud. Like kept me up all night loud, and I didn't think I was all that close to them. The only time it was quiet was from about 3:00 am to about 5:30 am. It was a whirring noise. It reminded me of the noise when an AC or big fan clicks on - you hear what feels like 5 notes. For an AC or a big fan, you would then hear a big wooshing noise, but you don't hear the wooshing noise at BCV. So it's like hearing something which is about to take off. You don't notice it in the hallways, but you do in the rooms.

My request at BCV from now on will be "far from elevators."

Surprisingly, when I was in the first room from the elevators on the second floor, I didn't hear the elevators (I agree about the other floors, though). Maybe there's something unique about the way the room closest to the elevator is configured (there may be some space, or a housekeeping room between the elevator and the room). But just that one "room closest to the elevator" didn't seem bad to me.
