Hi,

This might be somewhere on this board and if it is I apologize for not finding it and leaving this post...

We are staying at the BCV next Feb. This will be our first time there and our 1st time w/a one bedroom villa (past 2 yrs in studios at OKW). I was just wondering if someone had the full rundown on what was included in the room - plates, cups, dishwashing detergent, etc, etc. - so I know what I need to pack/buy for my family.

Also, we are renting points from a DVC member and, therefore, will have the benefit of being "honorary" DVC members on our stay - we understand that there are Disney DVDs available for rent - is there a charge for DVC members?

Any other advice/comments, etc. are most welcome....

Thx,
Margaret

Allears.net has a list of what's in the different rooms.

That should help you get an idea as to what is supplied in each villa.

I know they had DVDs available. But truthfully, we were too busy at the parks.

I love BCV! I hope you have a good time.

Thank you!

If anyone can tell me the scoop on the DVDs (Charge/no charge) I'd appreciate it.

You won't need any type of kitchen plates/utenslis/etc. They will also give you a small bottle of dish soap and some packets of dishwasher detergent.

You will want to bring laundry detergent and dryer sheets. We also bring Clorox wipes and air freshener.

As far as the video's, they will *probably* be free for you as you are staying on points. We were once asked for our DVC membership card to get them for free, so be prepared to pay a small rental fee.

Anne is correct ~ you will *probably* have a good chance of getting the DVD's for free since your card will say *member* when renting points for your stay but technically, only the actual members are entitled to the DVC discounts and perks. Be prepared that you have only a 50/50 chance of getting them. Sometimes they ask to see the blue DVC member card in addition to your resort I.D. for verification that you are eligible for the discounts. Many times they don't ask. If you are prepared to be turned down but end up lucking out than you won't be disappointed;)

On the laundry detergent end of things. Leave a couple of bucks for mousekeeping with a note asking for extra detergent on your cleaning day. They will normally leave it for you, but you do have to ask.

It depends on the housekeeper. Some are very tight with the supplies, even if you tip. We normally leave $10 on TNT day and $15-20 on full cleaning day for a 1BR, and have never been given extras even when we've asked. :(

And BTW--we are VERY neat and clean in our rooms.
