Hi. We're staying at the Beach Club with our DVC for the first time this May 2007. (we usually stay at boardwalk, WL, or OKW)

I would really appreciate any tips on how to best enjoy this resort, and any advice on fun things you did at the Beach Club during your stay there.

Thank You!

Subscribing for advice as well...we are going for our first time in September!

When we were there last year, they had some fun games for kids by the shallow part of the pool (near the Yacht Club). Taking a walk around the lake, by the Boardwalk area was nice, sitting out by the quiet pool and looking for turtles (and the alligator), and swimming were a few things we enjoyed. Epcot is around the corner for a nice walk too.

If you have young kids, sign them up for the Albatross Pirate Cruise. Ours loved it (girls, 6 & 8) plus two hours for mom & dad to relax.

Spend a day at Stormalong Bay. Find a spot near the sand beach and enjoy relaxing. They often have guided activities for the kids there (sandcastles, etc). Having waiter service from Hurricane Hanna's for drinks means you don't have to get up except to hit the Jacuzzi's.

If you can't get it out of your system, wireless internet is available in the public areas of the resort (lobby, sitting room areas like the Solarium, even at Stormalong bay)

Walk the loop to Boardwalk or rent a bike. Expecially nice first thing in the morning and also evening.

If you're not using the kitchen in the unit, make nightly ressies for dinner at different EPCOT restaurants. It's just a short walk. Personal faves are Le Cellier in Canada and Teppanyaki in Japan.

Walk in to EPCOT just to see Illuminations. 3x we've had an "EPCOT" view room, and we'd watch the fireworks from our balcony every night we weren't in the parks.

Again, if you have kids, the Character breakfast at Cape May Cafe is something you should do once.

Remember, mom & dad are on vacation too -- the Sandcastle Club for babysitting let's us hit Pleasure island on our own.

Wow -- thank you for all of the great information and advice! I'm excited. We love BW, but it'll be nice to stay at BC to see what it's like.

Questions:

*Do they really have an alligator? And turtles? :)

*I think we're gonna love the pool. We've decided that the kids like the DVC hotel pools as much as Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach at this point, because they're only 5 and 2. So, it's nice to stay someplace that has a great pool. Did you have to rent the tubes at Stormalong Bay & if so, how much are they? I heard that they charge for the tubes & I was surprised because I didn't think we had been charged in the past @ the waterparks for the tubes.

*Has anybody rented a surrey bike with little ones? I'm wondering if there's a strap to strap in my 2yo. Even my 5yo. Also, does anybody remember the price of those per hour?

*For those who have used the Sandcastle Babysitting -- did your kids like it? How old did they have to be to use it? What was the charge? I'm thinking my 2yo might be too young?

*I didn't know there were Epcot View rooms at BC villas! I'll have to mention it to dh to see if he's interested. We've seen Illuminations up close lots of times, since we stay @ BW, but I'd love to see it from the hotel balcony. :)

*I definitely see Beaches and Cream ice cream in our future. :woohoo:

Thanks again for your info and advice!!! :goodvibes
