We are thinking about staying at the Beach Club in January. Please tell be about the transportation to the parks. We previously stayed at ASMu, do the buses run the same way? Have you ever had an really long waits for transportation?

We stayed at the Beach Club in March and drove to the MK and AK. However, for the other parks you can walk (EPCOT) or take the boat (MGM). The boat was a quick and easy option, and kind of fun.

However, we stayed at Boardwalk in February (business trip), which shares the bus with the Beach Club. It was a bit frustrating because Beach Club, Boardwalk, Swan, and Dolphin all share the same bus sometimes, so it seemed to take forever to get going.

You could also, if so inclined, take the monorail between MK and EPCOT, and walk form EPCOT to the Beach Club (however, the monorail stop is at the front entrance and the exit to the Beach Club is in the World Showcase).

The Beach Club, overall, is very fun - the pool complex is fantastic!

We stayed at the Beach Club in June.

Epcot is a 5 minute walk to the International Gateway.

The Boat to MGM comes at least every 10 minutes I believe. We never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for one & it takes about 10 minutes to get to MGM Studios. The boat stops at the Swan/Dolphin before heading to MGM Studios same on the way back.

As for the buses, we only shared with the Yacht Club in June. They dropped/picked up at the Yacht Club first and the Beach Club second. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus to arrive.

The only bus that we stopped at multiple resorts on was the bus back from Downtown Disney.

Being able to walk to Epcot is awesome!

Keep in mind that all 5 Epcot resorts share 1 Animal Kingdom bus, though. It's generally a lot quicker to get off at the Swan or Dolphin and just walk.

During our stay at the Swan last August we only shared the bus with BW and Dolphin. The year prior to that it was shared with everyone but I think they realized there is no way all those hotels could share one bus so maybe it depends on crowd size. I know last year by the time we got to the Dolphin it was standing room only so no way could we go to YC and BC.

I'll be there in a few weeks so we'll see:confused:

During July we shared the bus with Beach Club for only AK, A friend of mine said in Feb of last year they were at the BC and shared with BW, Swan and Dolphin for all the parks.

I really do think that the bus route depends on how crowded they are. I'll be there very soon so we'll find out.

Over the years, park buses from BC have been shared with some or all of the Epcot resorts. It has varied over the years and it varies from park to park. Generally, however, while the bus service from BC is pretty good, one problematic area has been the bus to MK in the morning. Generally, those buses stop at YC first, then BC. I have seen it happen that the bus fills up at YC, so that no one (or very few people) at BC can then get on. This can lead to waits.

Driving from BC to MK is not a good idea, as the bus takes you right up to the gates, while driving only takes you to the TTC and necessitates that you then take the monorail or the ferry boat to the MK gates. Driving to AK, on the other hand, is a good idea as the drive is shorter than it is for the buses (the buses have to take a longer route to get to the bus drop off area than cars have to take to get to the car parking lot) and because you can park much closer to the front gate at AK than you can at MK.

I have seen this same scenario when staying at the Swan. It stops at BW then Swan and by the time it gets to the Dolphin it's standing room only. This is why I can't imagine it even thinking of heading to YC and BC:confused:

The only time I have been on the bus when it has made all 5 stops is when it goes to DTD because of the long route.

The bus rides to/from the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom can be very long. We stayed at the Beach Club in October, and the rides to both parks were 40 minutes+. Not sure if they just hired some new drivers, because one did get lost. Honestly, we would not stay at the Beach Club again without a rental car, we were so sick of the long bus rides.
