How long does it take to get from the BC to the MK? We have a 5pm reservation at the Captains Grill and 7pm reservations for the dessert party in the MK. I know we are cutting it close but is this possible?

Is driving the quickest route or should we take th Disney bus? We have a car but with driving we will have to deal with parking so I don't know if that is the best option.

Thanks

The fastest way would be to take a taxi from the YC ( Captains Grille is at the YC not the BC) to the guard shack at the Contemporary ( don't go to the entrance) and walk over to the MK from there. Total time should be about 30-40 minutes.
10-15 minutes for ride to CR
and 15-20 minute walk from CR into the MK to where ever the dessert party is held.

If it were me, I would try to move the Capt's Grille ADR back a bit, or find one at MK. That's cutting it too close for me. If you take an hour to eat, that gives you an hour to get to the dessert party area. Sure you can do it, but it's too much rushing around for me.

Since the Captain's Grille usually opens at 5 you should be seated pretty much on time. During busier times, I don't know if it opens earlier, but if it does, you could try for an earlier reservation.

I definitely agree with the PP who recommended a taxi. If you drive you will have to park at the TTC and still use the monorail or ferry to get to the MK.

When you get the taxi at the Yacht Club, tell the driver you want to go to the Contemporary Resort, otherwise, if you tell him MK, he will also take you to the TTC. If you are lucky, the driver may even drop you off just inside the CR parking lot gate, which will shorten your walk by about half.

I assume you'll be eating dinner at the Captain's Grille, followed immediately by the Dessert Party. That's a lot of food in a short time. You might want to think about a lighter or earlier dinner/late lunch. Just my 2¢.

Whatever you do, don't take the bus! The bus service is way to unpredictable. I also found during my stay at the Beach Club the bus service to MK was not the best. Too many resorts sharing a bus means long waits and long rides. Take a taxi.

I too would cancel Captains Grill and do a late lunch. After the bus leaves YC it goes to BC then BW then to MK way too long.

Captain's Grill is nothing more than a glorified Denny's. I personally wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, especially if it involved a $20 taxi. If you are staying at the YC/BC then maybe I would do it after a day in the parks, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way and incur additional time and/or expenses to dine at this establishment.
