Hi All.. We are staying at the Beach Club in July and will be going from the Beach Club to Jiko (at the AK Lodge) for dinner. What is the best way to get there? We did it last year and took a cab... Is there a better way? We have a big group this time (8 - 10 people).... Thanks in advance for any advice.

hotel to hotel is difficult. A couple of cabs is faster but assuming you have time, I'd suggest you either walk thru EPCOT or take a friendship boat to HS. then grab the AK bus.

BTW Jiko is a fine choice. DW and I enjoy it. If you can get there early then try the waterfall bar -- very nice setting.

If AK is still open I would take a bus to AK and then a bus to AKL, if not I would take the first theme park bus to arrive and then switch to the AKL bus.

On the way home you can do the reverse via a late park or DTD but IMHO DTD buses can take quite a long time :(

Honestly we budget $ for resort to resort transportation - it may be worth it on the way back to BC even if you need 2 cabs.

If you decide to go from the front of Epcot or DHS, then take the bus directly to AKL.

You could also take the bus from the Beach Club to the AK, then transfer there to the AKL bus.

However, I think the best way is a taxi. It will take far less time to get from one resort to another.

We too budget for a few resort to resort cabs for dinners. It is still cheaper than renting a car. The Disney resort to resort trek is time consuming. The cost of the cabs is worth it to us, especially coming home after dinner.

Just remember that if you do the walk through Epcot route, you must have admission and if you were in a different park that day, you must have park hoppers.

I'd think the DHS>AKL route would be the quicker. Taking the boat (or walking to the Studio) would probably take less time that walking through Epcot.

It depends on how much time you want to spend commuting. A cab will get you there in approx. 15 minutes and cost you approx. $15. If you decide to go with the free WDW transportation, be sure to add at least 45 minutes to your trip. :)

I'll be doing this exact trip in 18 days. My plan was to walk through Epcot and grab a cold beverage from England and walk to the front of the park and catch the AKL bus. It may be a longer route but the cold beverage was an easy sell for me.:)

With a party that large, i would consider asking guest services to get a taxi van. It took us over an hour to get to AKL from OKW last year, and after we just took a cab back. You may be in a food coma and not want to deal with the bus hassle..
