Beach Club - Shopping? Counterservice?

We are planning to redecorate our kids' bathroom in a Mickey Mouse Beach theme. Though the Mickey Mouse "tiki" decor is cute, I'm looking more for Florida-Cottage beach items - to go with the David Doss trio of Mickey Mouse sandpail prints.

Anyway, I thought that, after our day at Epcot, we could ride the boat (from the International Gateway) to the Beach Club and that I might could find some unique items for the kids' bathroom. So, my questions -

Are there any shops at the Beach Club (and/or Yacht Club as well) that would have beach-y home decor items? If so, where?

Is the Beach Club Marketplace just a counter-service/food items location or does it have other kinds of things as well?

Also, this would be at the end of our day at Epcot and would be around dinnertime. I have enough TS restaurants planned already (so Beaches & Cream is out unless we paid OOP). Does the Beach Club have a good counter-service location? Can we eat at Hurricane Hanna's even if we were not resort guests? I know Hurricane Hanna's is located next to Stormalong Bay, but we definitely wouldn't be swimming - just eating. (I thought Hurricane Hanna's looked cute for a quick counterservice location.)

After browsing the shops at the Beach Club, I thought we could stroll over to the Boardwalk.

Thanks for any advice/suggestions!! :flower3:

I got prints of those - like them a lot. They sell them (or did) at the Art of Disney in Epcot.

There is a gift shop at the Beach club, but it isn't one of the better hotel gift shops. I dunno how much home decor they have (much less with the beach theme), but I don't remember a lot of it. Hope you get a more concrete answer.

I don't know what other things you mean. It is a very, very counter-servicey place. Also not one of the best in the Disney hotels.

They had a fairly decent gift shop, and they switched it around so that they have a gift shop/counter service place. Jack of both trades, master of neither.

IMO, no. But you can get take-out from Beaches and Cream. I would think that would be considered counter-service. I don't know, though. I don't do the dining plan.

If I were in Epcot around dinnertime, I'd be eating in Epcot!! Lots of good counter-service there!
Can we eat at Hurricane Hanna's even if we were not resort guests? I know Hurricane Hanna's is located next to Stormalong Bay, but we definitely wouldn't be swimming - just eating. (I thought Hurricane Hanna's looked cute for a quick counterservice location.) I don't think they'd let anyone in just to go there, but they might.

It is nothing special. Just a walk-up place next to the pool. They have those at every resort. I certainly would never go out of my way to go there!

Last time I was there, the gift shop at the BC didn't have much unique mercandise - pretty much the stuff you can get anywhere. They did sell the Mickey beach lamp that is in some of the rooms, and a few beach-y trinkets (i.e. little figurine of Mickey and Minnie building a sand castle). However, there was nothing really for a bathroom. Could have changed since November, though.

I actually have a Mickey themed bathroom - but I did it with the red/yellow/balck theme, as there was lots of stuff to buy. If you are successful, I'd love to hear about it!!

As for CS, I think you'd be much better off at the CS in World Showcase. Hurricane Hannah's had a decent vegetable wrap last November, but nothing I'd be in a hurry to go back for.

Hurricane Hannah's is open to anyone not just swimmers although I second that the choices aren't that extensive.

Beaches and Cream no longer does carryout except for some ice cream treats and beverages. And it is TS as the OP indicated.

BCMarketplace offers three different cold sandwiches and 2 or 3 cold salads.

I agree that the shopping isn't that great. The YC shop has a more extensive selection of resort wear but neither has that much for decorating as best I can remember with the exception of the respective lamps which are very cool but rather expensive.

Thanks for the help!

The Mickey & Minnie sandcastle figurine actually sounds pretty cute & would be nice to sit on the counter!

I think I've seen pics of the Beach Club Mickey lamps (if you're referring to the same one I'm thinking of) - how much $$$ are we talking? or :scared1:

I'm also looking for some towels and things like soap dishes, etc. Beach-y & fun since it's a kids' bathroom.

I'm so crazy! I'm already planning my trip for next June! We couldn't go this year, so planning for my next trip is the next best thing!

So, on our 1st Epcot day, I plan for us to eat lunch at Garden Grill. I had wanted to try a WS counter for dinner, but I'm having problems finding one we'd all like. Last year, we tried the France counter, and only I liked it. DH thought his pastry was dry. :confused3 Anyway, that's neither here nor there, but I was thinking that, for a change & to do something different, we could scope out the Boardwalk area that evening... At first, I was planning Beaches & Cream, but, lately, I've read some poor reviews on everything except the ice cream. So, I thought Hurricane Hanna's looked cute since the kids' meals are served in sandpails, and the Hurricane Hanna's menu posted at allears actually looked better to me than the Beach Club Marketplace menu. Maybe we can try the Boardwalk Bakery...

I didn't know if the Marketplace just served food & only grocery-type items were available to purchase or if they had other gift shop type items as well.

Again, thanks!!!

:)

They do carry towels but I think there are only large beach size. Not sure about a soap dish. We'll be there in the Fall and I'll try to remember to look for you if you like. Of course merchandise could well change in almost a year. The lamps have been there forever though.

I think the lamps were in the $200 range but really not sure. I wish they would sell the copper lighthouse style from the living room in the villas...I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat! I love the lifeguard one too but as our "kids" are grown, I don't really have anywhere to put it.
