Just booked my 2013 trip for the Beach club. My AAA travel agent informed me that all the standard rooms were already sold out for late July. I was surprised. So much for a bad economy. We upgraded to the Garden view for an extra $50.

I don't think there are a lot of Standard View rooms at the BC, that's probably why.

It might also mean that the AAA discounted Standard rooms are sold out.Each Discount( including AAA) only have so many rooms per category,view and resort

I think this is the case. AAA rooms sell out early, since there are only a few rooms at each category at AAA rates.

They have very few standard rooms. When we were there we upgraded to a garden view also.
