We are staying at the Beach Club in Oct. We have friends who live in FL. and they are meeting us for an evening and staying at another Disney resort. In my passporter it says that only resort guests can use the pool. Does anyone know if they could come with us to the pool or does Beach Club not allow this??? TIA :flower:

They give you a bracelet at checkin. If it is not busy they do not check on the pool area, but sometimes check when getting on the slide.

I suggest asking when you get to the resort. If they say ok then have a great time.

This is what they told me, as long as you are a registered guest, your guests are welcome, as long as they are staying at a Disney resort. That is not poolhopping. Poolhopping is when you are not a guest going to another resort. That is CLEARLY looked down upon.

The pools are for the exclusive use of guests of the resort. The exception is if you are a DVC member since you pay dues every month to maintain the pools. Even then BCV pool is excluded. I believe BCV is the strictest about checking ID. Maybe you can swim at your friends resort?

We just got back yesterday from the BC and the pool is awesome. It was very quiet the only time anyone checked was if we went up for towels. Friends of mine went last week and stayed at the Boardwalk but went over to the BC pool with no problems. I think it is b/c it was so quiet there. Have a great time...We LOVED it!

That is considered poolhopping. That is looked down upon, not the same situation.

I don't typically get involved in the pool hoping/usage threads, but we just returned from BWV and noticed several clearly marked signs indicating that Luna Park (the pool at the Boardwalk) is for the exclusive use of BWI/BWV guests. IMO that does not mean friends/family who live in the area or anyone staying at any other WDW resort. When you ask CMs you are bound to hear several different answers. The signs are clear about the policy and ultimately that is what I would assume to be the official WDW policy. HTH....

I want to know who is doing all this "looking down upon" pool hoppers. Does anyone really notice or know if someone is pool hopping?

I think if you ask they'll tell you that is fine. I also don't think it even matters enough that you have to ask unless you go to the pool and see them actually kicking people out for not having bands. What does it really matter if your friends swim with you 1 evening? What they don't want is people feeling free to flock to deluxe resort pools and crowding the guests paying the big bucks. If they didn't have this posted policy, even people not staying at Disney would be swimming there which would chase the paying hotel guests away. Since you are paying guests, and them joining you is part of you enjoying your hotel stay, I really doubt it's going to be a problem.

I know people are supposed to wear wrist bands, but we frequent Beaches n Cream and have looked around to find many people not wearing them.

While I agree with everything you said, I posted on another thread how a women at SAB accused me of pool hopping because we didn't have our wristbands yet when that is exactly what she was doing????? She told me so after she felt bad???My son has special needs so we had to make sure we had a place to sit first.

And yes I would say that on many occasions there have been people there poolhopping pretty bold about it too. We usually go during some type of holiday so chairs are at a premium and yes I think it's a pain to have to deal with that.

On the other hand should be no problem having them come to swim if you ask.

Thanks for all the info. They are staying at another Disney Resort for the night. I will ask when I check in and let you guys know!!!!! Don't want to be accused of pool hopping. :)

It is kind of a matter of principle. Part of the reason I am paying $300.00+ a night to stay at a resort is the pool and grounds. If every person staying on Disney property was allowed to go to the best pools there would be no room for the people staying there to relax and enjoy thenselves. The signs at the pools say "FOR RESORT GUESTS ONLY", theat means FOR RESORT GUESTS ONLY. Why do people always have to take advantage of the rules? If your friends and family are not staying at the BC/BCV/YC than they are not supposed to be swimming in the pool there, period.

I want to be clear that I am not trying to take advantage. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this. I will ask at the hotel and if they say no I will not do it. I will follow the rules. Thanks for everyones help. :flower:

I'M one of the people "looking down upon the pool hoppers"!

I am a paying guest of the Beach CLub and are therefore entitled to it's ammenities. As the other poster pointed out, if everyone could just come and go as they pleased there would be no room for us paying guests of the resort. Sure, other Disney resort guests are paying too...for THEIR resort (AKL, POR etc..)To the OP.

Best bet is to ask at check-in if they'll allow you to bring some guests.

I don't know??? I was just trying to ask a question to see anyone had any experience. I'm sorry I posted the question. :flower: I hope everyone has a great day!! :sunny:
