Beach Club Pool Question

We're thinking of staying at the Beach Club for our next visit but I'm concerned about the fact that Stormalong Bay closes at 8:00 PM. Can anyone tell me what their experience has been with the quiet pool? Is it big enough to house all us late-night swimmers? One of our biggest pleasures is heading to the pool after a long, hot day at the parks and to be honest, the early closing of Stormalong Bay is an issue for us.

Thanks so much! :wave2:

We found that the quiet pool was often empty, regardless of the time-of-day, but especially in late-night. (This was before BCV was built, though, but I don't expect the situation has changed much.)

We have stayed at the BCV four times in the past three years and the most people that I have ever seen in the quiet pool for the BC is about 4 people so I don't think you will have any issue.

Interesting, thanks for posting this. I had NO idea SAB closed at 8 PM. That may factor into our decision-making. Our kids do go to bed around 9, but often when traveling, we like to do a swim right before bath and bed. Could do the quiet pool, though!

Just got back from BC last night. The quiet pool has a nice hot tub there as well. Very few people at night and I have stayed there during off and high season.

I have never seen more that a few people at the quiet pool. You have nothing to worry about.

We found the quiet pool just that- very quiet. We have stayed there a few times (and will be this season as our wedding reception is there) and every time we want to head down, there are only a few people there. The most I have ever seem in the Quiet pool at any given time is about 10. For the most part, people stay to themselves.

Thanks for the responses. They have definitely helped. It looks as if we're booking the BC for July. Can you imagine not being able to swim at night in Florida in July?! I would say that qualifies and cruel and unusual punsihment under the Constitution :earboy2:

Please don't flame me, but I beg everyone...leave the Quiet Pools quiet. If you have kids that want to splash and yell and have fun - which is normal and appropriate pool behavior for kids - take them to the regular pool.

The quiet pools are a refuge for the folks who don't want to be around all that. We give up being able to swim in a deeper, bigger pool because we want the peace of resting by, and slowly doing a few laps in, the Quiet Pool.

OK, I said my bit. Please take this in the spirit it was intended; it's a request, not yelling at anyone.

When DD and I were at BC in 2002, the pool closed at 6pm! The quiet pool was always quiet, just us and the ducks! (I think her favorite part was swimming with the ducks!)

I guess that going at the very busy times has it's advantages. I know SAB closed after IllumiNations in August when we were there and even later when we stayed ocer Christmas/NYE.

That's good to know. When we were at WDW last August we went to Beaches & Cream and asked when SAB closed. They told us 8. Perhaps during July it will be open later. In any case, we decided to give the BC a try and we can't wait!! :Pinkbounc We figured it was time.

JFI; the official closing time for the quiet pools is 10pm to midnight, varies by resort. They do not enforce this unless it becomes noisey and bothers the guests with rooms close by.

Hey All,

We love Stormalong Bay with our kids 9 & 7, but even they like the quiet pools sometimes. It gives them a chance to practice all their strokes that can't be done in stormalong bay. We are heading next Thursday to our 33 trip to Disney 4th this year and cant wait. Liz
