Two questions about the BC - does it have a restaurant with counter service like in the Values & Moderates? Also I know a couple that have stayed in the BC and loved it, the only thing is their whole family got swimmers itch - from the ducks - that apparently swim in the pool also- did anybody else know of anybody that also got this - I'd hate to spend all that money and have us all with a rash over our vacation - because that did happen to them.

I've been to YC (which shares the pool with BC) a dozen times and have swam at the pool many times on each trip. Neither I nor anyone from my family has got "swimmers itch" from the pool due to the ducks being in the pool (not even sure you could get it that way anyway). I would not worry about this.

As for counter service, there is a place in the BC store that sells a limited menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner foods and there is Hurricane Hannah's by the pool. There is, however, no food court like one finds at the Values or Moderates.

The ducks swim in all of the Disney pools so no matter where you stay, this could be an issue. No one in our family has ever had that problem and we have stayed at all of the resorts many, many times per year. However, the only rash I've been know to get in Disney is a heat rash on my legs. Usually around my ankles and calfs. I usually blame it on the heat coming from the pavement. I've witnessed the ducks swiming at every resort I've been too, but my most recent visit at the WL, the ducks spent as much time at both pools as the guest did, and even in the hot tub -- which I thought weird. There is no escaping the dreaded pool swiming ducks at WDW.

I've never stayed at the resorts in question, but I do have some knowledge of swimmers' itch from summer camp. We were told that you can get it if you stay in your wet bathing suit too long. Moisture leads to bacteria (or fungus?) growth, etc... The solution was just to take off bathing suits promptly and to shower after swimming in the lake. I assume the same would apply to a duck-filled pool.

My family and I have also stayed at the BC and swam in storm a long bay many times. No swimmers itch. And I would bet the people you know certainly did not get it from the ducks.
