My daughter s being married Aug 26 at Wdw Swan. We've stayed many times at Bwv's in the past as we used to be DVC members but have never stayed at Y&BC. Having trouble deciding between the two. Which is your preference?

The Y&BC thread gives a lot of great info (including photos) to help you make your decision. The BC was more appealing to us and we will be staying there for the first time this June. This is from the thread:

Beach Club
Lighter, beachy decor in lobby and rooms
Lobby can be active and lively with families waiting for meals at Cape May
Closer to EPCOT and Marketplace Gift Shop
Approximately 50% of rooms in all room categories have full balconies. The remaining are standing balconies.

Yacht Club
Darker woods and nautical decor in lobby and rooms
Lobby is more serene
Convention attendees are more likely to be booked at YC
Closer to Hollywood Studios and Friendship Boats
Most rooms have a full balcony

I think they are both wonderful resorts. But if a balcony is a deal breaker like it is for me stay at the YC. BC you have a 50/50 chance at getting a stand up balcony

They are pretty much the same resort with different themes/decor. We have only stayed at the BC, but have visited the YC many times. They are both beautiful resorts, but the YC seems a little quieter to me as the BC lobby can get loud and chaotic due to Cape May being right off the lobby. As the pp said, if a balcony is important to you, the YC would be the better choice as all rooms come with a balcony, whereas a full balcony would be a request at the BC.

The beach club is easier to walk into Epcot. Otherwise, they are very similar.

I had the same dilemma and went with the BC as its closer to WS and I like the beach theme more.

I am staying at the YC this summer. The TA i used had a great deal but only for the YC. I also are traveling with other people who need the day beds in the room. In a perfect world I would be going to the BC/ I like the theme more and closeness to the Marketplace.

Can't go wrong with either, but I prefer the BC. It's a bit closer to EPCOT and is just a tad bit more relaxed than the YC. YC is still a wonderful resort!

We like both YC and Beach club. We really enjoyed room 4532 at the beach club. It had an oversized deck and a view of Epcot's earth and very secluded. The deck was wonderful at night and for eating breakfast at.

I like both. It's hard to say which is better because they are really very similar, but I might give the edge to Yacht Club for having balconies on all rooms and it was a little less hectic there if you want a quiet place to come back to after a hectic day in the parks.

We picked Beach Club for the ease in getting to the WS in the evenings. I'd like a large balcony, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Stayed at both and like both of them... We usually pick YC since we don't want to worry about the balcony and it's so close to the BC that it's just as convenient a location IMO. Plus the lobby is quieter (it can get really crowded and noisy at the BC with people waiting to eat at Cape May Cafe). But honestly, I suggest looking at the lobby and room decor photos on the YC/BC thread and choosing whichever one appeals to you the most. They share all the resort amenities and I would be happy at either one. :goodvibes

I agree. I've also stayed at both. When I've gone on a girl's vacation with my cousin, we enjoy the Yacht Club for the more "adult" ish environment due to the colors of the decor. You can't go wrong with either. Both are wonderful.

I have stayed at both twice. I prefer the decor at the BC and I like the convenience of the Marketplace but I hated not having a balcony. So the YC gets my vote.

I find the difference in the walk to Epcot to be inconsequential. I would not choose based on location.

Since the wedding is at the Swan, you might want to choose the YC. It is closer to the Swan and will be a little easier to run back and forth between the two resorts.
