We are DVC members at AKL. Thinking about beach club or WL. Being close to parks is not important. Transportation and theme are important along with convience and views with balcony or patios. We wold be in the villa section. Any help is much appreciated. :)

Both are nice. WL is close to MK, and BC is within walking distance to EPCOT and DHS. Both deluxe so the Villas are very similar. Both multiple dining experiences but, BC has the boardwalk which also has a lot to offer such as entertainment in the evening (outside on the boardwalk). Kind of six of one a half a dozen of the other when you consider you don't care about proximity to any one park. :cool1:

Both VWL and BCV are small resorts. And they can be hard to get at seven months out. But if you try exactly at seven months out as soon as you can book, you might be lucky. Both have the smaller, narrow balconies with two chairs and a small table. At VWL, you pretty much have trees as your view. BCV was built on the old CM parking lot behind the BC, so there isn't much view there either. You can get lucky and get an Epcot view (with Illuminations at night), but you can't request that view.

VWL is highly themed to the national parks of the NW US. BCV is themed to Cape May, NJ. So it looks like Grandma's beach house at the shore. BCV do not look like the BC rooms.

At VWL you take a boat or a direct bus to MK and buses to all the other theme parks. Only the MK bus is not shared. The Epcot bus is shared with FW, but I'm not sure which resorts share the DHS, AK and DTD buses.

At BCV, you can walk or boat to Epcot and DHS, but you share buses with YC to AK, MK and DTD. Sometimes S/D, BWI and BWV are also in that mix.

Hard decision........can't make up my mind, haha.

Only thing I really didn't like about Villas at Wilderness Lodge is how far you have to walk to get to food. The Villas are on the other side of the resort, so it takes some time to walk to Roaring Forks (the quick service place at WL). When I stayed there, it was raining a lot, so we had to walk inside the entire way. If it wasn't raining, you could walk by the main pool and it cuts down the time

I would say BC because you can walk to France get a pastry and enjoy on your balcony. The pool is 4x better and unless you go during Christmas the theme is nicer to me.

We have stayed at both resorts and thought that the buses were much better at Beach Club than at WL. If you look at a map you'll see that there are three parks close to BC and only one park close to WL. BC shares buses with YC which is connected and not far at all. WL shares with either GF or FW which means it spends a lot more time picking up people than at the BC.

But we love WL too. It is in a great spot for MK and relaxing. :)

Being close to parks not an issue, then WL, no question.

Have stayed at both villas and we prefer the BCV, just like the atmosphere better, more things to do and see between BC and BW, more dining options and love walking the boardwalk at night!Enjoy!

My family's favorite resort is WL for just the pure beauty of the resort and the setting on Bay Lake. Great location for MK using the boats.

We also love the BC as well for being close to EP/HS and the amazing pool. We like the BW area and Crescent Lake too.

Obviously the theming is drastically different, so I'd go with the one that best fits what you are looking for.

That is exactly why we love both the WL and the BC. It is almost like taking two completely different vacations. :goodvibes
