So excited our waitlist just came through for a 2bd villa for marathon weekend in January! When we joined DVC in 2011, one of my goals was to stay at BCV, but with two kids who can't share a bed, we've always done studios or 1bd with 3 sleeping spaces. Just couldn't justify getting a 2bd for four of us. We're bringing DD's friend with us for the marathon, so we decided to splurge on a 2bd. I am so excited!!!

Anyone stayed at BCV for the marathon? DH, DS16, DD14, and DD's friend will all be running the half marathon on Sat. I know they'll have to catch a bus very early. Any suggestions for where I should go to watch them during the race? DS will finish first and probably head back to BCV. The kids are Disney pros, so I'm not worried about them navigating transportation alone, but I'll probably want to catch DD and friend at the end for a photo.

We have an ADR for Trattoria Al Forno Friday night for them to carb up. We have a breakfast ADR at Cape May on Mon before we head home. I made an ADR at Beaches & Cream on Saturday night, but I'm debating about changing it. Not sure how hungry/tired everyone will be so I don't want to do a buffet. Thinking about maybe trying Big River or ESPN instead since we've never eaten there, and we will definitely want ice cream at Ample Hills not B&C (DS still talks about his ice cream there last Christmas). Anywhere else food-wise in the area not to miss?

We're only doing the parks (AK) one day and otherwise are just relaxing. Hoping it will be warm enough to swim. We love Fantasia Gardens. Other suggestions for things nearby to do?

Beaches and cream is not a buffet.

I think they were looking for area restaurants that were not B+C, but also not a buffet, excluding places like Cape May or Garden Grove. I myself have no suggestions, but hope that it is a great trip.

ESPN zone is nothing special. I would skip that one.

Any of your runners will not be able to walk back through Epcot after the race without park admission. They'll need to hop a bus to BCV. Same with any spectators. Everyone needs to ticket to enter Epcot except for the runners during the race. If you get up early enough, you can ride the bus with them to the race start, then hop a monorail to the MK to see them run down Main Street and then monorail back to Epcot to see them finish in the parking lot. I've been lucky enough to catch my son and later on my husband running on Main Street, then monorailing back to Epcot just in time to see my son enter Epcot for that part of the race. Then I walked over to the finish area to see him cross the finish line and the two of us waited for my husband to finish. I had a car so it wasn't too hard to arrive at the Epcot parking lot before they closed it for the race and then be able to drive us back to our resort afterwards.

We stayed at the BCV for the Marathon, DH was in the Dopey Challenge-perfect location. DH got off at the first bus stop (Swan) coming back and walked from there-great little stretch for his legs.

Mention of Friday *night* for dinner makes me need to remind you of the early early morning for the Half, so don’t make it too late in the evening. I like to be done eating by 7 for those early morning events.

And make sure there’s food that will make their stomachs happy. Nothing too odd.

As for Saturday night, I’m never generally exhausted by the evening the day of an event, and I’m old lol. I’m not sure you need to worry about them being exhausted that night.
