Going through Disney on-line:surfweb: , I was getting prices that averaged around $350/nt. This seemed way to high for early October (off season). Any experience out there on how to get the best deal?

Thanks.

It appears that you are getting the "rack rate" for rooms at BC during thet time period. You could join AAA and possibly get a lower rate (I think it is 10% off room rates). An Annual Pass also gives you access to lower rates at various times. Finally, you could wait until closer to October and see if Disney offers any promotions which cover that time period that would result in lower rates.

Keep in mind that October is Food & Wine and the Epcot Resorts get sold out quickly so you may not find availability there if a promotion comes out later. If you have your heart set on staying at an Epcot Resort in October, you may be stuck with rack rate.

how do you rent from a dvc club member? I need multiple rooms can u just book through Disney or do i have to go through a member?

Do you have AAA? If so, you can call to see if a room only AAA rate is available during your stay. Only problem is if you wanted the dining plan
you cannot add the dining plan to a "room only" rate.

Or you could try working with a travel agent that will "actively" work on your reservation. Meaning take the booking with/without the AAA rate, and that will keep an eye out for the promo's and switch you over when one becomes available. It won't cost you anymore $ to work with a travel agent. And any agent can book a AAA room only rate without you having to go through a AAA office. I believe if you want a AAA package you will have to go through a AAA office.

Dont believe promos for October will be out for a little bit as we are still waiting to hear Aug/Sept.

Good luck:cool1:

Look on the main page of these forums, there is one called "Disney Vacation Club" and look for the one called DVC Rent/Trade. I would post you a link, but my post count is to low to allow it...a little lame, but guess that's part of it.

You have to book through a member, it will be a private transaction between you and them, not Disney. I doubt at this time there will be openings at DVC, as this is a very popular time to go.

Be sure to read the FAQ, as the cancellation if allowed will be determined by the member you use and payment schedule also.

great thanks, i am actually looking to go in September of 2008. Thanks for all the help!
