Beach club availability at 7 months

We're planning to rent points for a split stay the first week of April 2019. How likely is it that we'll find availability for 3-4 nights at Beach Club Villas at 7 months out? Should I just go ahead and pay a little extra to secure the reservation now?

I would pay the extra to secure the BCV villa now. BCV is a very small and popular resort. If you are looking for a studio villa, those go very quickly and you'll want to move now at the 11 month mark with a BCV owner to give you the best chance.

That is spring break season, but not Easter. Could be a problem if a studio. A 1BR you should be fine. a 2 BR in between. All are open now.

Keep in mind that in 2019 the Star Wars half marathon is April 7th, and participants usually arrive a couple days in advance of that to run multiple races and to pick up their race packets, RunDisney events are very popular with the DVC crowd as well as people looking to rent points.

Absent the Star Wars race weekend, you would likely have had a good chance of getting BCV in early April 2019 at 7 months out (the last time the first week of April was not part of an Easter week, in 2017, all of BCV was open at 7 months out for that week). However, the Star Wars race weekend ends that possibility, and you will most likely find BCV booked full in all room sizes well before 7 months out for all or part of the Thurs through Sat of the weekend. The Star Wars race weekend is the second highest DVC demand time during DVC's otherwise low to moderate demand season that runs from the Monday after marathon weekend in Jan to late Sep. The first highest demand time during that period is the Princess half marathon weekend in Feb. In fact, if you actually want that April time next year, you should look now to rent a reservation from a DVC member because the rooms may fill quickly now that the 11 month window has opened.
