DSis and 3 kids will be staying at Beach Club (not BCV) for one night in March because we are short one night on her BWV reservation. We hate split stays but I'm sure the kids will love using SAB. DSis, on the other hand, is very nervous about supervising 3 kids ages 12, 6 and 4 at SAB. I am scared too. It is one reason that I don't like to stay at BCV with kids.
The room I booked at Beach Club sleeps 5 but I cannot add myself to the reservation because I am already booked at BWV for that night and the CM at central reservations said I can't do it. Is there any chance that the CMs checking Magic Bands at the SAB gate would allow me access in street clothes just to help watch the kids? The age difference in the kids is so great that it is going to be hard for DSis to keep them all happy in the same area. I know that the lifeguards are good but we just are not comfortable with kids being out of sight near water. TIA for help for this nervous Nelly.

They do check quite often and I wouldn't want to risk trying to get in to the actual pool area. Maybe your sister can call and add you to the reservation instead of you calling, or she could use your middle name? I am sure they have to have tons of guests with the same name anyway.

(Unless you have the dining plan on both reservations and then I can see why you couldn't be double booked.)

MomBird, we aren't doing the dining plan. I'm afraid to have her add me over the phone for fear it will mess up MDE. I wonder if we could try at the desk when we are there. Seems so silly to have it be this big a deal just to help keep the kids safe in the water!

Have her call and add you with just your initials and last name. It should not mess up your ME.

I think DisneyBuckeye is right that it won't mess up your MDE.

You could definitely try the front desk, but then you're at the mercy of who you get - and they can be pretty strict about pool hopping at Stormalong Bay. Maybe you could call directly to the front desk at BC ahead of the trip and ask for their advice (rather than reservations)? If the CM gives you a thumbs up, then ask for that person's name and have it with you on your trip.

I agree that with kids that young two adults would definitely be a safety help. I love Beach Club specifically for the pool, but for me it was certainly easier with only two kids and two adults when they were young. Otherwise, they'd pretty much have to stick to the kids' beach area the whole time. (I don't remember if that specific section has a name.)

As long as you're not the lead on both reservations you should be fine. But using a first or middle name or initials will work as well.

Well, the CMs at SAB just want to scan a MB or KTTW card to see if you are staying at BC/YC or BCV. I don't think all adults have to show a photo ID to check in - my DH never does when I do the check-in.

So be someone else for that night if it's going to be a problem! :teeth:

it would probably be easiest to just have her add you to the reservation, using your first/middle initial, when they check-in. we've occasionally added a person both at & after check-in without any problem (different vacations, different people, lest someone thinks we're having huge parties in our villas;)).

have fun!

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I called and asked to have Jean Jones added to the reservation. They did not ask for my address, thank heaven, so hopefully there is no way it can mess up MDE. I have a split stay at BWV booked for DSis following the Beach Club night so she will be ordering a lot of Magic Bands!
