Beach chair swap???

Anyone notice the first posts were from 2006? I don't think that swap ever happened! We need to start a new 2007 chair/umbrella swap. The Christmas tree swap seems to be so successful, maybe someone who has done a swap before can give us some tips on how to organize a chair/umbrella swap.

Post #15 talks about starting up new for 2007, so far a few of us have posted our dates but no real momentum. I also see another thread about this same subject has recently been started.

Yes it was from 2006 and I partcipated on it!!!

I will be there from 8/18 - 8/25 I would be happy to receive and leave chairs in a swapping arrangement! Send me a PM.

Well, since I'm the one who inquired about the chair swap and it appears I may be the first one arriving @ VB, my dates are April 16 - 20. So without making this too hard, how do I coordinate the swap?

Barb, from what I've seen on other thread of this nature 1 person coordinates who will be at the resort when. 1 person buys the gear and everyone that takes place in the swap sends that person an equal share of the initial cost.

Usually the 1st person going buys and gets sent the "share" to offset the cost. The more people participating the lower the share price.

What you need is someone going every week to make a hand-off to the next person. Some people are doing a fridge exchange at the value resorts and when they have a gap the CMs hold onto the fridge for the next person in the group. I don't know if Vero would do the same for you.

I won't be joining you here since frankly my fat a** would collapse a lot of "lesser" chairs. I'll bring my own I guess.

I'll have to see if Mahusky and Co. would like to get together to say Hi. We'll be there the same time.

I started this thread in o6 and could never seem to get dates before and after mine to "make it happen"...My huuby and I and DD7 loved vero so much we are returning this year and WE WILL do chairs and umbrella as we didn't last year and hated being without!
so...when we get our dates finalized, I'd love to join in..we keep switching date due to family conflicts...right now we are booked from June 1-June 6th

We check in on Sunday 6/3 and check out on Weds 6/6 - looks like a few of us are right in line with each other!! Just DNeph (9) and myself this trip. This is a great idea!! Just realized this was a continuation of the '06 thread - looks like we'll be there at the same time - anyone know how much they rent the chairs/umbrellas for? It may be worth a trip to Walmart on the way down!
