Beach Chair Safe

Awhile back I saw a posting and a link for a lock box thing that you can put onto your chair at CC. I think it cost about $20, attached to your chair and had a lock so that you can lock up your KTWC, watch, camera, Ipod when in the water. Now I can't find it. Help?

I think you might be talking about this one.

I've never heard of these things - but this really looks interesting! (We always worry about leaving valuable stuff on the chairs at the Yacht/Beach Club pool at WDW and hadn't even thought about what to do at CC for our upcoming cruise(s).)

Anyone use these and have feedback?

I like the idea of this safe a lot but what prevents someone from cutting the cable or taking your chair?

We have one and I gave them to all of my siblings and parents/in-laws for Christmas. Nothing really prohibits anyone from cutting the cable or walking off with your chair - but I daresay that would be a bit more trouble than most thieves are willing to take. It certainly wouldn't be unobtrusive (at least particularly on CC!)

Given the choice of leaving stuff under a towel or in the secure-it, or leaving someone to "guard" items so that we can't do activities as a family, I'll take my chances with a few items in the safe.

I carry my KTTW card and my ID card and put them in a waterproof case that I then wear. You can get these at REI and other sporting places. They make waterproof cases for cameras and cell phones, too.

They also sell them at the parks, the resorts, the waterparks, and CC itself. I have several from various places.

Unless your chair looks really unique, I imagine someone would just pick up your chair and take the whole thing. Plus, it seems like just having the safe signals, "hey, I got something valuable here!" :confused3

I usually bring a ziplock bag, put my kttw cards and stuff in it and find a spot to bury it in the sand discretely.

:lmao:I would SO forget where I had burried it.
I know what you are going to say, put something over it, but still, I can think a hundred ways it would go wrong for me.

I like this idea, especially for CC. I wouldn't worry about someone taking the entire chair while on CC, I am sure it would look strange trying to get that back on the boat.:rotfl2:

I honestly have to say that I have NEVER worried about leaving my things at Castaway Cay. There's no need to take anything valuable out there, like a phone or whatever. Your KTTW card, a towel, and what else??:confused3

I have a waterproof camera that I take in the water with me....and I really never have worried about someone making off with my snorkel and fins.

Your KTTW card isn't going to do anyone else any good, because as you use it, you have to tell the CM your room number. If someone doesn't know your room number, it isn't going to do them any good to steal it, and I think everyone knows that.

Editing to add: I see the OP mentioned a watch and an iPod. I use an inexpensive water proof watch, too....so it's always on my wrist. As for the iPod, I have one, but hardly ever use it. They play music on the island, so I enjoy listening to that.
