Currently playing on Disney+. We watched this on Sunday and it was really good. It's not as comprehensive as I would've liked and they do quickly go over Manson and Dennis' relationship + the Mike Love lawsuit. They also don't go into Kokimo which is weird because it really was a reconnecting of the Beach Boys with the public. If you like the Beach Boys and that era of music as they also go into the rivalry/competition/mutual influencing with the Beatles, I highly recommend it. The Beach Boys were my dad's favorite band so they hold a special place for me.

I grew up listening to The Beach Boys. I definitely want to check this one out.

I think the main reason why they decided to do a documentary on The Beach Boys was because after the success of The Beatles Get Back documentary Disney+ wants to be like VH1 and have music documentaries of music stars and they hope that they attract music fans. I also think why Disney+ chose to have a The Beach Boys documentary was so they could give Brian Wilson lots of money to keep The Beach Boys legacy intact. My dad is a fan of The Beach Boys and has two of their albums and I can say out of all the groups of the 60's The Beach Boys had the most interesting story because they actually sang great songs but had endured troubles but in spite of all that managed to survive. I do remember Kokomo because when that song debuted in 1988 it signaled a comeback album was soon on the way but that album never happened. I also remember when Glen Campbell and Full House star John Stamos sang with The Beach Boys and when John Stamos was no longer guest performing with them it hurt the group a lot. But my mother likes the song Don't Worry Baby and that song is one of The Beach Boys best ballads. I also know that they have a song called Wendy that's about Brian Wilson's daughter who went on with Carnie Wilson to be in Wilson Phillips

I also read in my copy of the Guinness Rockopedia "A music encyclopedia all about artists and bands that's published in the UK that's a really cool book" that after a show Brian Wilson and the rest of The Beach Boys got into a bickering arguement with their father "I think about the band's money" and Brian Wilson fired their father as The Beach Boys manager and after that it hurt the group terribly. I also heard that before he was in Captain & Tennille Daryl Dragon was in The Beach Boys as a keyboardist and The Beach Boys gave Daryl the nickname Captain. Does this documentary talk about these things that happened with The Beach Boys
