Hi ladies I have been enjoying all the topics here. I am the MOB. You all have such great ideas and information. Thank you all for posting it is so helpful.

My DD and her fiancé :lovestruc are planning a Disney Wedding for summer 2011, they just told us. We are thrilled. As we have been reading through some threads I’ve seen something about a beach bbq. Would anyone care to share what beach and how much and how did it go? We are thinking of fun things for our guests before and after the wedding.

We are vacationing in Disney this summer and they/we have a meeting planned with a planner, just trying to get ideas before our trip so we can be prepared.
Sorry for all the questions we are just starting this process and I like I said you guys are great with information.:thumbsup2

We attended a Disney wedding in February of this year. The day before the wedding the groom's parents had a Welcome Dinner for all the guests (there were about 120). It was on Shipwreck Beach at the Yacht and Beach Club. It was so much fun. They had a 3 piece Reggae style band. For food there was hot dogs, hamburgers, bbq chicken (I think), baked beans, green salad, potoato salad, corn and I am sure I am forgetting a few things. There were at least 11 to 12 tables set up with great tablecloths, some fish centerpieces, everyone got a lei. It lasted 2 hours. There was also an open bar, coffee, tea and some great desserts.

Linda thanks for the reply. Sounds like you had a lot of fun. We will defiantly look into it.

I'm not sure about any venue or set-up fees for shipwreck beach but we looked into doing something similar at the GF Summerhouse. There is a BBQ menu that has everything Linda mentioned, I think it's $57 pp. We got a quote for a party with sliders - beef, crab cake, pork and veggie, fries in paper cones, vanilla and chocolate milk shakes, trio of cold soups, and a fruit display for $59 pp. Unfortunately we had to cut it because we just don't have room in the budget but they will completely work with you to create the event you want.

That was my wedding :) It was a really nice venue, and surprisingly quiet too. I was nervous that we would hear people from the other side of the beach but we honestly didn't. Also, we had the option of just doing an IPOD dock for music (about $50) but DH's dad really wanted a steel drum band (so did we but he sprung for the band lol) if you have any questions feel free to PM me :)

Morning Sam - yes - that was Sam and Dave's wedding. I did not want to post too much about it until she did. I will say though that we had a WONDERFUL time, the location was beautiful, the food was yummy and the music really added to the feel of the beach.
