We were there this past summer and as compared to every previous year (we've been members since 1996, so have gone most years) the beach is in poor shape.
Erosion has put the sand approximately 1/2 way up the ramp and stairs (one on either side of the dock) with little room for actually stretching out on the beach.
We won't be going this year. We'll find another beach on the east coast to visit; one that has a stretch of sand that can be enjoyed, before you get to the water's edge.
Not sure how Disney can do anything about this, but it seriously takes away from the beach experience.
