Be warned...

As far as I'm concerned, the flight attendants are there to save my a$$, not kiss it. I'm sure they could save me and the other passengers more quickly without wearing heels and a skirt.

For $85 roundtrip from Chicago to Orlando, they can have a wooden barrel strapped onto their shoulders. Face it, Southwest is the Greyhound of the sky. If you're looking for a "classy" airline, look elsewhere and pay triple or quadruple the price. All I want is FAs with proper safety training...if they give me a beverage, that's a plus. I'm more concerned about a mechanically sound plane that will get me there as close as possible to on time, and SW definitely accomplishes that.

And personally, I prefer the casual look. I was sad when ATA FAs went from their "vacation airline" garb to a more businesslike look (and it obviously didn't help them, since they went bankrupt shortly thereafter).

exactly!!!!

SWA is #1 and like others have said, they have yet to cry bankrupcy. I guess that's because they realize planes only make money when they are in the air, unlike the others who take hours to "turnaround" a flight.
During the unfortunate time we flew Smelta :rotfl2: the plane sat at the gate 3 hours before we were due to leave. SWA makes better use of their aircraft.

I'm 34, and I was telling my DS12 on our last flight, that when I was his age people dressed up to fly - even the passengers. My parents made me wear a dress, or at least dress pants. Thank goodness times have changed!
I remember those days too, and I am 47! I too was surprised at how the F A were dressed at SW! :confused3 I was going to BE a Flight attendant back in the 80's and I had to buy contacts, lose weight, and wear panty hose if I wanted the Job. :guilty: However, this is 2005 and times they are a changing! :confused3

I'm also curious what they wear on hooters air?? Maybe my DH would let us go to WDW alot more often if we flew HOOTERS AIR. (HA HA)

Actually, the main flight attendants are dressed "traditionally" while two others are your more typical "Hooters Girls." They'll make a few rounds of the cabin selling calendars, shirts, etc (captive marketing) but they're polite about it. Believe me, it's far less than your DH would see on a typical day at one of the waterparks!
