We were booked for Nov 03 for four nights. I had booked delta back in Jan. I decided to look into the Fairytale deal to go in October, and when I called Delta to possilby change my airfare, my current flights for Nov. were all cancelled!!! We were only going for four nights and with the new flights assigned to us, it would not enable us to have any type of trip. I was so angry that I was not contacted and they just said they were working on trying to contact everyone. If I had not just called on a whim, I would not have known this in time to book another trip that would work for my family. They cancelled all early flights from Boston due to economics. As stated in an earlier post, they are now only leaving from Logan at 11:30am, not any earlier. Just a dissapointing FYI. This is for all non-stop flights. They do have many flights with stops, but with little kids, we like non-stop.

I have flow Delta many times from BOS to MCO, and had to learn many years ago to keep an eye on them; they loved changing flight times, and now that they have moved to Song, they cancelled some of the most popular filghts; the early one down, and the late one back. Many people have taken to checking every day, especially the closer you get to you flight.

Our plans have changed a total of 5 times with Delta/Song. We are now leaving a day earlier than planned and staying at an AllStars. I figure that if they change me again and it's not to an earlier flight, I'll just cancel and go with Southwest. Delta is getting a little carried away with the changes. I had to find out about all my changes/cancellations on my own, via the internet. And people wonder why I'm obsessive about checking every day!! They must have never flown Delta!!

We are scheduled to leave on a 7:20am flight (Delta/Song) from Boston on June 27th. As of today, that morning flight is still scheduled. We were also scheduled to come back on a 7:00pm flight however we were moved up to the earlier 3:30pm flight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the morning flight is not cancelled.

 Good heavens. I fly Southwest consistantly and have NEVER had to check my flight details. Had I been on your Delta flight I would have just shown up that day, totally clueless. I'll have to reform. <sigh> it's just frustrating, though... it's not like we don't pay them enough to take care of things like that.

Try Southwest out of Manchester. They have 2 non stop flights down to MCO and back each day. I booked travel Oct 16-Oct 23 for $175 roundtrip!!!! Southwest is booking through 10/24 right now. They will most likely release dates through the end of November in Mid June - call reservations to find out !!

Good luck.

I finally got a non stop flight to WDW from Boston on American for 205 . Thank goodness. I only had to check everyday for almost a month. I was almost stuck with a non stop on American and a return stop in Cincinati on delta. Here's hoping its not changes. Anyone have problems with American?

PS it's for July 7-12

Hopefully since thats not too far away, you shouldnt have too many changes, but we did have problems with American. We booked direct flights, on big planes at good times. Those flights got changed, then cancelled and we were put on tiny planes(which Im paranoid of), connecting flights both ways(I also hate going up and down), and getting to our destinations much later. That is why as soon as Song announced its schedule, I cancelled with AA(got a full refund) and jumped on Song. Since then our Song flight has gotten cancelled too. And this was all in 3 months!

Hope you have better luck than we did.

The reason you don't have this on SW is that they don't release the flights that far in advance.

Anytime you book far in advance on any airline you should check every month or so. Yes, they will try to call you, but if you booked via a TA (and Expedia, Travelocity etc.. are TA's) the airline assumes the TA will call you and I have NEVER gotten a call from Travelocity! Also, they call in order of change, so if they changed all flights starting in August, they start with the August people first which means it could be while before they get to November. (Kind of like how Disney handled closing POR)

The past 3-4 changes with Delta/Song I have made directly with them. And still they haven't contacted me. One reservation changed(flight cancelled) only 3 days after booking! Southwest is looking pretty good to me. I wonder which airport is closer...TF Green or Manchester???

Well, they probably won't contact you until closer to your flight. That way they don't have to call you 5 times just the last time!

It's a trade off. People get upset with SW because they don't know their flights that far in advance, but then they book with Delta or American a year in advance and get upset when those flights change.

The majors (ie Delta, AA, United) are losing SO much money that these changes are just a way of life. They are adjusting the flights and fleets much more rapidly then they used to in order to try and match demand with planes. Also, my feeling is they are willing to risk losing some low fare flyers. I know that the changes to a lot of the frequent flyer programs have greatly devalued the "milage" for cheap tickets. The message to me is, if you get cheaper seats expect less. (Don't shoot me, I don't agree with the message and have moved ALL my leisure travel to SW!)
