Everyone has bad days, frustrations, times they want to scream. But the thing to keep in mind is that someone, some where, is having a much harder day than you are.
My dad has been in the hospital since Monday, he wasn't able to breathe. The hospital got him stabilized and today he had to be transported to a hospital in St. Louis that is much more equipped for cardiac care. My mom and I followed the ambulance out of the parking lot and headed home so she could rest before we go up tomorrow (per my dad's orders). As we were driving onto the highway, a helicopter landed to transport someone to the city also. That person was in critical condition and the hospital staff wasn't sure if they were going to make it.
Mom and I looked at each other and said a silent "Thank God that's not dad". As hard as the past few days have been on the family and as hard as they will continue to be until he's home, we knew that some where there was a family suffering even more than ours.
So take a moment and hug your loved ones. Life is too short for the little things to drag the day down.
