For lunch you do not need an ADR, although some people have been able to snag lunch ADRs in a special email sent out.

Ah so that is how they got the lunch adr (they kept saying FP+ so I couldn't figure out how they did it:confused3)

Ah never thought to check out TripAdvisor - thanks!

Well i checked and no ressies for the day i wanted. So will mosie on by and if busy maybe just keep walking.

Boy even the fp+ for BOG are now hard to get - ah well

Wonder if we can just go in to take pics?

I know BOG isn't character dining, but I just wondered if there were any Photopass opportunities at the restaurant?

We had the FP+ lunch and loved it. A wonderful, healthier option in the middle of the day. We had the turkey and roast beef sandwiches and the pork.

If you have dinner there, you can take photos with the Beast in the library after dinner. There is a photo pass photographer and the handler also used my camera.

To be honest, I have read a number of mediocre reviews regarding the food. My wife and I have reservations for Dinner to primarily experience the ambiance and to take some pictures. If the food is somewhat decent I will be pleasantly surprised.

Well, at least that's good to know! Characters usually dictate the majority of our schedule, so this will be music to my son's ears!
Now, if only the chef's game improves...!;)

We had dinner there on 8/2 for our anniversary and we loved it.

I didn't book an ADR at first because of the lukewarm reviews, but then scored one the night before. We went with zero expectations and I told DH that I had heard the food was lackluster. We really wanted to see the inside, so we were willing to potentially be disappointed in the food if it meant we got inside.

We were pleasantly surprised. We both got the steak, and we tried the chocolate and strawberry cupcakes. Delicious!! DH talked about it all week nonstop.

We had dinner there on Monday and I was impressed and very happy with the meal. I am kind of a steak snob so I ordered the pork chop while my children got the steak and my wife the ratatouille. She didn't love her meal but as a vegetarian she didn't have any other option . My pork chop was a great bone in cut and cooked perfectly which for me means nice and rare as is safe for pork. Very juicy and flavourful and the jus was tasty too. The steak was even better though. From the few bites I managed to steal from my kids it was cooked a really nice pink and juicy medium and the garlic butter on it was amazing. Much thicker cut then I expected based on the reviews.

Dessert was alright, nothing incredible. Service was excellent though we were at a later seating 8:30 so the restaurant was not so busy. I'd highly recommend the food with the possible exception of the veggie option.

Can I ask what 'fast casual' means when it comes to lunch?

I'm torn between reserving for lunch or dinner, for budget reasons, but I also wanted the Photopass photos with the Beast, which I've read only happens after dinner.

Allears says lunch is counter service - but is it still in the same rooms as dinner is served?

Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to make the wrong choice.

:)

I think fast casual is referring to the fact that you order in a line like a counter service, find a table, then they bring it out to you on nice flatware/silverware.

I also hear that they do use all the rooms for lunch to accommodate the popularity/high volume of guests, but when the restaurant first opened, only the ballroom and west wing were used, and the rose garden room was dinner only.

I'm going there for lunch on the twelfth, and I plan on writing a review.

WE just got back from disney. I was able to get an ADR for lunch. I had preordered our lunch. so I picked up our rose at PhilharMagic, walked back to BOG. We were ushered in-chose a table in the west wing. got our cultlery, drinks and setled down--about 3 min later our meal was served. We had the pork and strawberry cupcake. All was delicious.

We ate here last November and in January and the food was very good both times. We had the steak and the puff pastry. My daughter who is a very picky eater had the grilled chicken and loved it. For dessert we had the chocolate cream puff and chocolate cupcakes and they were both really good as well. Oh and the gray stuff was delicious!

I was looking forward to experiencing this restaurant for the first time and while the theming was great, the food still needs a little work.

Had dinner here last week and found the French Onion soup very bland and the Mussels Provencal way too salty and overcooked. :confused3 The Shrimp and Scallops on the otherhand were tasty and well cooked but served a bit lukewarm.

Have to say this was unfortunately the least favorite meal of our stay.

I Just ate there today. I Found the link to a fast pass plus right here on dis board, got an online fast pass and scooted passed the line!

I Arrived at 11:00 am. In five minutes we moved to an ordering kiosk. The people in front of us were very confused and took a long time to order. A disney helper came along and kind of helped them finish, then rushed us through our ordering process as if we had been holding up the line :confused3

No big deal really. He was pleasant with us.

We moved on to the dining room and the helper there was trying to hurry us to sit in the main dining room, but I insisted on looking at all three rooms before choosing the west wing (beast's scary lair with the wilting rose under glass). Very dark In this room, lightning and thunder, too! Our food arrived while I was in the loo:offtopic:

French onion soup was bland as noted above by others. The braised pork was a wonderful choice, and lemon raspberry puff pastry was divine and gluten free.

Wouldn't choose to come again, but our teen young adult children were not with us and they will want to go when we come back.

We have been for lunch several times and think it is really good. Potato leek soup, pork, warm turkey sandwich, croque monsieur and ALL of the cupcakes, just delicious!
Because of how much we enjoy lunch and based on the iffy dinner reviews, I haven't even tried to get a dinner resi.
