WTH, my trip is over 5 months away, the ADR's just opened for my week about 10 days ago and NOTHING is available for my entire 6 day stay at BOG for lunch or dinner. ALREADY booked up? How good is the food at this restaurant that there is nothing available? Honestly, I get why we need to do ADR's, I get that there are like a gazzilion people all making ADR's but almost 6 months out to plan is ridiculous but to be booked solid is insane! Any tips on getting into this place or am I wasting my time?o_O

Sorry for the rant, I am SUPER EXCITED to be going back again! :mickeyjum and I hate to come off as a brat not getting my way but I guess I'm in a bratty kinda mood now  Love the DisBoards! :disrocks:

keep checking.
its not all booked up.
disney just hasn't released more availability yet.
i'm still looking for dinner for my sister on 9/21 and i'm confident that disney will release more availability for that day just like they did for late august/early spetember last week.

but yes the food really is that good and the atmosphere really is that amazing!
its my favorite restaurant hands down.

BOG is pretty much always booked solid at 180. It's been that way since it opened. The food is pretty good at both lunch and dinner, but it's the atmosphere and it's newness that make it such a hot ticket. I'm in love with the place.

There is a free dining promo happening later this year, so I think a lot of people have snagged a bunch of reservation times ahead of time and will narrow it down as the time gets nearer. Hopefully you'll have better luck as the day gets closer and people start to cancel. Just keep checking back and hopefully you'll be able to snag a ressie eventually!

Also, in reference to "how good" the restaurant is, this is my opinion:
Breakfast: Ok, but overpriced. Eggs Florentine were good, but couldn't request no cream cheese or substitute for the roasted tomatoes. Kids enjoyed the eggs (not sure you can mess that up), but would have liked to be able to select their own fruit as a side (not melon fans!) or substitute for something else.
Lunch: Good! The Roast Beef Sandwich, Carved Turkey Sandwich, and cupcakes were especially yummy! My kids enjoyed the tomato soup with the grilled cheese, but did not like the actual grilled cheese sandwich, probably because of the thicker bread. The French Onion Soup was not so great as it was more like cheese soup, and not even Gruyere cheese : /

Overall, I think most people want to eat there specifically for the atmosphere. We absolutely adore it.

Good luck to you in your reservation search though. It's definitely frustrating, but keep trying and you'll probably end up with some of the ones you want!

Thanks! I want to eat there for the same reason plus it is all new to us, new is exciting :drinking1 I'll keep trying. YES, it is free food that week so I guess there's the answer. Duh, I should have figured that out :rotfl:

I booked 2 different times for BOG at the end of my stay when my window opened up yesterday (cancelled one.) I booked another lunch on Nov 19th day today. I searched for 10:30am openings. Enter the actual time you want. 10:30 and 10:45 am openings for lunch are still open. Try, try again, it is possible!

The ambiance and themeing is among the best Disney has ever produced in Florida, but from a food standpoint, it was our worst meal of any trip to WDW.

I have done BOG 3x's, 2 dinner & 1 lunch. I have been disappointed each time. I want to love this place but the food is ehhhh and service was horrible. I booked it for lunch for my next trip and DH laughed at me that I haven't learned my lesson.

I tried for a dinner ADR at my 180 + 6 at 6 AM and it was completely booked. You can't expect to wait a few weeks and find any availability. I have been trying multiple times a day since, and I will continue to try
Good Luck

For what it's worth, for my trip in late May there was no availability until about a month ago and all of the sudden there were tons of times available. I think they must hold some back and release them later. There's no logical reason why it would open up like crazy otherwise - I'm talking about multiple times available around 12 for lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. Good luck!

Could that have been due to people cancelling their packages within the 45 day cancellation policy?

To the OP, you could always try one of those Sniper sites. People cancel for various reasons. We cancelled our BOG dinner reservation when on our last trip b/c it just became "too much" to rush around to everything. On the flip side of the coin, we picked up our Garden Grill reservation with a couple of hours notice on one of our trips.

Actually, almost every month since the restaurant opened, Disney has dumped a whole slew of reservations into the system weeks or months after the booking window opened.

Nope, it typically happens much earlier than that. You'll see the flurry of messages on the Dis and Facebook with people finding multiple times for dates they had been searching for daily for months.

We've been for lunch twice. We were able to get a lunch ADR less than 90 days out (April trip). There was nothing for a while and we kept checking every few days and all of a sudden there were openings.

Only advice is to keep checking, and check different ways: computer, MDE app, phone. Sometimes I saw different availabilities on my phone compared to my wife's phone, go figure.

As a PP said, food is probably the best at MK but is a long ways behind other restaurants at Disney. The atmosphere, however, was awesome when we went.

I just made a lunch ressie about an hour ago for 11/18

FWIW - we had lunch there and won't go back. It was pretty sub-standard counter service food. We were wishing we were at Columbia Harbor House.

Good luck and like others have said, keep checking. In my case, at my 180 day mark it seems like Ohana dinner is NEVER available, but I can get everything else. Then a couple days later, suddenly every time slot is open for Ohana dinner.

As for BoG, we love the lunch there. It's very relaxing to sit as long as we want to without being rushed out, atmosphere is very cool, love the refillable drink station too. I can't seem to steer away from this meal:
Braised Pork - slow-cooked pork with vegetables and bacon served with mashed potatoes and green beans jardinière.
I just love it. My DH tries different things and hasn't loved anything except the Braised Pork. My kids have tried several of the kids' meals and absolutely love each one. They both say it's their best meal in Disney.
