Be Our Guest lunch - regarding new changes to dining plan

Does anyone have any experience of dining at Be Our Guest for lunch since the dining plan changes were introduced on May 31st? At quick service restaurants, you should now be able to replace the dessert or beverage with eligible snack items. At Be Our Guest, we'd like to replace the dessert with soup since the soup can be purchased with a snack credit. Has anyone had success with this at this restaurant? We've tried all the desserts at this restaurant over the years, but we're more savory people. Thanks for any info!

How does this work when pre-ordering your meal online? I was thinking I could get a dessert, and DH could get soup instead of his dessert. In other words, if he wants the turkey sandwich, French onion soup & drink, do I click all those separately and sort it out when we get to kiosk?

Yes, just pre-order what you like and when you get there, you can explain how you want to use your dining credits.
