My extended family had the pleasure of dining at BOG this past Monday, June 24th ....we had a 5:40pm reservation. We arrived at the drawbridge about 5:25pm and were instructed to check in at the booth to the left of the bridge. We were given a pager and waited just about 15-20 minutes. The pager went off and we were instructed to proceed across the bridge where we were greeted by a very nice CM. As we were wisked to our table the the CM happily told us about the room and pointed out to the right that we could have our picture taken with the Beast after dinner.

The Main dining room was large and beautiful. But to my surprise.....and since we had 3 boys with us .....DSs 15 and 13.. Plus my 6 yr old nephew.....we were lead into the West Wing....the Beast's area.....wow....perfect.....

The West Wing is a little dark....but manly and spooky ...perfect for boys.

We were sat at a large round table directly in front of the entrance to room and to the right of the service area. We love the location....roomy and we could see the Beast's portrait plus the rose.

Lots of guest would come in this room just to take photos of the portrait and the rose.

Our server was Allen and he was excellent.....we were never rushed...it was a very leisurely dinner.

The food was very good...however some of us found the seasoning to be a little over done on fries and vegetables.....but to be honest we were very happy with the whole dinner.

Dinner rolls great....we had two baskets....their were 7 of us.
Appetizers....DSis and I had the salad very nice.....DBIL had the trio of salads....and DH had the soup....delicious....

Main courses....3 of us had the Shrimp and Scallops in the puff pastry.....very good...nice choice.....DS had Roasted chicken with fries and asparagus...very good....DS had Steak with fries...came with strings bean which I taste ...too salty .....DSis had Steak too...she thought it was great....and DNephew steak which he ate a little bit of (very picky eater)....and Dad finished it.

We really enjoyed the service and food....we all were pretty full and did not have dessert......dessert cart looked nice.

I went around and took a few photos after dinner....then we all went to have our picture take with the Beast....no lines....Beast wonderful...as well CM with him.....loved the hall with the snoozing Knights....

All and all happy time a BOG....so glad we went!:wizard:

Glad you had such a wonderful time! I'm looking forward to eating there on our next trip. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the review! I'm excited for our dinner at BOG in August and this just made me more excited! :)

We have a reservation for Xmas day. I'm curious about the shrimp and scallops in the puffed pastry dish you tried. How is the sauce, is it spicy?
Also it looks like the Beast walks pretty close to the people? My DD is scared of the costumed characters. she is 10 and knows that they aren't real. :confused3. I figured we could easily skip him on the way out. I will just have to warn her that he walks by on occassion.

Thanks for the review. I can't wait! I am considering doing lunch also but not sure if we should do it the days before or the days after our reservation.

It was way better than I expected...the photos do not do it justice.....

The sauce was a lite cream sauce not spicy.....the shrimp are in the sauce and pastry bowl you get about 6 jumbo shrimp and then the scallops are on the plate about 2/3... I can not remember if the are seasoned differently or in the same sauce.

Since we were in the West Wing...the Beast would just step into the room...he did not walk around it. The West Wing is a little spooky....lightening frequently with the Beast portrait as a man turning into the Beast for a silt second.

I hope your visit is a wonderful, as our was...:wizard:

Thank you it sounds great cant wait to try the dish.
We are going to let the check in CM know that my DD will be afraid in the West wing and ask if we can sit in the ballroom.

Thanks again

I had the Chicken Provençal at BOG and it was my favorite dinner for our entire 10 day trip.
