Be Our Guest for Lunch w/out reservations?

We have decided to plan a somewhat last-minute trip to WDW for my 50th b-day! We leave in a little less than two months. I REALLY want to eat at Be Our Guest but of course there are no reservations available.
However, I'd be fine going for the counter-service lunch, as I mostly want to experience the restaurant itself (not the food!).
Will we be able to get in for lunch without a reservation? I know you have the option of making one (there are none available when we are going however), but I'm hoping it's like other counter service locations where you can get in without one.

Sorry, but not likely. Keep checking for an ADR even up to the day of and/or sign up for the free Touring Plans reservation finder. BoG is NOT like the other QS places and you do need an ADR to eat there.

Unlike other counter service locations, you need a reservation for BoG breakfast and lunch. It's not so much an "option" as "required" since the restaurant operates at capacity throughout the day. Although you could try to do a same-day walk-up, it's highly unlikely they'll have an opening.

Follow the earlier advice - try the TP reservation finder and start stalking openings. Since you're about 2 months out, now is a good time to do that since guests who previously made their ADRs at 180 days are making their 60 day FP+ reservations, adjusting their schedules, and (just maybe) dropping their BoG lunch reservations that don't work.

Agree with the others, try the Touring Plans reservation finder. How many people are in your group? You can also try splitting your group up (for example, if there are 2 of you, try to find 2 reservations for 1 person at times close together, if there are 4 of you, look for reservations for 1 and 3 or 2 and 2). You pick your own table, so if you have reservations say at 12:15 pm and 12:30 pm, you can still all sit together.

I'm an outlier. With a party of 2, we've walked up twice and have gotten in, but it was on a whim (I once found an ADR for 1 on the MDE app, so gave it a try, another time it was total pixie dust). If you REALLY want to go, keep trying for the reservation. If you walk up, you have to be prepared to be turned away.

Thanks, great advice! I will try all suggestions. After all, it's my birthday, some pixie dust has to come my way, right?

We booked our trip at 63 days out. I used the Touring Plans reservation finder and was able to get a pre park opening for Be Our Guest breakfast. You will be able to find what you want. I have faith. Keep trying. One will pop up. People change their plans all of the time.

Asking for a walkup reservation needs to be your very last resort. I will say though that I witnessed a rare walkup 3 weeks ago. The CM informed them that it was due to a cancellation, so, again, rare.

My advice is to keep checking online up until the very day. And Happy Birthday!

That is such a nice message. made my day! Thank you :)

Even if you don't find anything right up until your trip, check again the night before because that is when people cancel to avoid paying the no show fee.
Great advice, I think I've done that in the past (cancel last minute) when my kids were little. Thanks!

Happy I could help. I really think you will be fine. You might not get the exact time you want, but it will come close. And once you get a reservation, if it's not the exact time you want, keep checking. You just never know. We really enjoyed our breakfast. My husband enjoyed it more than Kona. And since Kona replaced the Samoan, I have to agree with him. Good luck. Sending Pixie Dust your way.
