I have a lunch (1:50pm) ADR right now - but I am wondering if it wouldn't be better to switch it to Breakfast and cancel Crystal Palace and that gives me another dinner option. We are only going for 4 days and we have so many restaurants we love - fitting them all in is so hard... and we all want to try BOG since we haven't been... but have been to CP plenty of times...

Thoughts?

The only reason I would suggest a BOG breakfast would be if you wanted to try and get in the park early (and are on the dining plan). We wanted to get in early, and were on the dining plan, so it was worth it to us. But if I was paying out of pocket and not getting a jump on the rope drop crowd for 7DMT or Peter Pan, there is no chance I would go back there for breakfast.

I agree with the above. The breakfast at BOG is good for the experience and early entry. We all (3 adults) did not like our food at all. Totally not worth it. But we love lunch. We are doing dinner for the first time this trip, so we are looking forward to that. We are looking forward to meeting the Beast who is only there at dinner, or we'd probably stick with just lunch. We have a lunch ADR too.

I don't recommend breakfast. Haven't had the other meals. I had all three booked at one time or another before our trip and decided to go with breakfast. I wish I had chosen lunch. But we were on the quick service dining plan so the astronomical pricing didn't bother us, but the food just wan't that good, IMO.
Definitely don't pay OOP for breakfast at BOG. So many better ways to spend that money.

I would recommend lunch or dinner. Dinner is the only time you can see the Beast if that interests you. I thought breakfast was way overpriced and the food wasn't that great. If you go for lunch, I highly recommend you preorder your lunch before you go. It will save you tons of waiting time.

We just experienced the lunch and it was excellent! My expectations were low after reading the recent reviews. I had the coq au vin and it was absolutely fantastic!

Since you don't have a lot of time, do the advance order and save some time when you get there. We were sitting at a table with our food in less than 15 minutes after checking in at the front of the bridge. So much less chaotic than the other QS locations. We also had a PPO breakfast that we ended up cancelling while we were there. We hit MK pretty hard and really didn't need the extra time before rope drop.

Wait - I'm confused... Pre-Order my lunch? Isn't this a table service restaurant? How do you pre-order?

Lunch is considered quick service. You can preorder about 3 weeks before through MDE. Even though it's quick service you must make an ADR.

I'm in the same boat, I didn't know lunch was a quick service. I have it booked for lunch in October now wondering if it will be worth it. Do you get to sit inside and eat? Can someone give me an overview of how this works? TIA!

So does it count as one of my TS meals? No? We are on the deluxe plan this time - so I guess it doesn't really matter... right??

Breakfast and lunch are both quick service and will not count as a table service credit. I've never tried the breakfast but I thought the lunch was excellent. We ordered in advance via the app. A links showed up on MDE about 3 weeks before our trip. You pick what you want and submit your order but don't worry, it can be modified. When you check in at BOG they will ask you if you preordered. If you did, they will give you a yellow rose and direct you to a line with all the others who preordered. You will check in with a CM who will verify your order and give you the chance to pay for any items not covered by the dining plan. You find a table in any dining room you want and your food is delivered shortly thereafter. They can find your table because of the rose.

If you did not preorder you will be given a red rose and directed to another line where you can order your food at a kiosk. From that point on the process is roughly the same.

We did a pre order lunch last month and really liked it. I just wanted to add that if you have magic bands they don't give you a rose, they scan your band at the check in desk, the pre order register and they find your table by your magic band. I think I only saw one rose in the regular line, most people used their bands. If you don't have a MB, they will give you a rose.

We had magic bands and they still gave us a rose. Everyone in line with us had a rose as well.

I have noticed from different posts on the boards that BoG seems to be trying out a bunch of new things to make things go a little smoother. I've even read about CMs escorting families to tables. Who knows what to expect, but just go with the flow! The CMs at the bridge should be able to walk you through the process.

Thank you so much for the info!!

I thought about doing BOG lunch, but decided on dinner, because we really wanted to meet the Beast. We had a wonderful time! Beautiful decor, excellent service (probably the nicest server from all the TS restaurants, although we had great service everywhere!), and the food was really good too! Meeting the Beast was icing on the cake!
