Welcome to the disboards There are a lot of helpful people here that are always willing to share their advice and suggestions. I have learned quite a bit by posting my questions. There is also a facebook group for those of us traveling October 2012.
I love the weather during October and of course Food and Wine plus MNSSHP. I am going again this October with my husband and will be introducing him to all the great food kiosks. Last year I went with my 2 bestfriends to disney and we had a blast at MNSSHP.

Welcome! I started on these boards when we were JUST beginning planning our December 2007 trip, and dh found the secret green club (if you have a lot of time and like to laugh, I HIGHLY recommend the first version of the thread). I jumped in there and started posting, and now consider those folks good friends, several of which I have met IRL now too. Then I branched out to the rest of the community board, and have gotten to know some awesome people over the past several years. I am not the most prolific, especially not here, as I tend to "chat" on facebook as much as anywhere and have a number of DISers as facebook friends as well. There were times that I rarely posted and times that I have posted quite frequently, but I always come back to the DIS. I am frequently on the theme park board, Uni/Seaworld boards as well as on the CB. It is probably wrong, but I really enjoy reading those "controversial" threads. Its fun to me to see how worked up some folks can get.

Mass here. Though I did live in Southern CA for 14 years. Part of that as a kid and part of that after high school. I had the chance to work at Disneyland during that time. Had a blast!

When our kids were little, we loved Disney in October. Perfect combination of low crowds and great weather. I'm very jealous! My youngest graduates in 2 yrs and then off to college and dh & I can vacation at off times again. I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
