As weird as the title sounds, I am literally asking.

I don't post a lot on the boards, because until the past couple of months, we had no plans to go to Disney World. However, we decided to head that way in October, and I want to be a part of the board.

I don't feel unwelcome...more like...ignored because people don't know me.

I would love to talk to some of you!

:welcome: to the Community Board. I think half the fun of a WDW vacation is the planning and most people on the DIS love to plan them down to the very most minute detail. Don't be afraid to ask questions and enjoy the preparation. You can find some great information out here and meet some really nice people.

The best way to get to some people is start posting on threads. Just pick some with topics that slightly interest you and start adding in your 2 cents!! Read them too. You will start to see people that are a lot like you, people who aren't a lot like you but are pretty funny, and, of course, some oddballs.:lmao: Once you join it you "get to know" people. It can be a little intimidating at first and as a newbie, you might feel odd if your post goes unnoticed, but that happens to everyone.

Just join in.

I agree just start throwing things out there.
I think I have been a member since '09 and I am still unknown too:rotfl:

One way to meet October DISers is to go their pre-trip reports and read and post in them. Then you can find people who are going the same time as you.

There are also a couple of October 2012 general threads, and we have a very active facebook page as well! (search for October 2012 DISers)

I'll be your friend!!!!!!! Hey friend! Man making friends is easy and awesome!

My daughter is a Razorbacks fan... just thought I would add that.

Just start posting.:goodvibes People will get to know you in no time. You don't need to have plans to visit WDW to post here, especially on the community board. Just jump in. Mostly we are all nice. ;)

How do you feel about reclining your seat on an airplane.......:lmao: Just kidding...no really, do you recline? That seems to be an important issue here. That and reusing mugs. I'm a recliner, but not a re-user. I have my limits.

I'm the same as you too !

I've been on the DIS since idk 2008 ?

Im hardly known at all and I highly doubt I'm a name people remember, I'm not sure if that's good or bad ?

All in all, my entire time on the DIS I've never had to empty my message box, I've had 7 messages total in 3-4 years

Welcome to the DIS

DH and I are in the works to plan our first kids free vacation since our honeymoon which was ver short. And it will be the first time going to Disney without the kids. We're going in celebration of our 10 year anniversary !

I'm going to try a pre-trip and dining report for the first time ever, so follow me, so we can be friends !

Just jump on in and post!! Read a bit and write a bit. And just remember, like in RL, not everyone is your "friend"...:lmao:

Hey new friend! How are you today??? Glad to meet you! The boards can be like that at first but just start posting and people will begin to warm up. When are you headed to Disney? :goodvibes

How awesome !! October is such a great month for a visit. We will be headed back in October too. Hope you'll find lots of great people to talk with ....ignore the ones who confuse your number of posts with your IQ... and take advantage of all the great time saving, money saving advice from the wonderful people on the boards.
When are you going in October?

Hey there, friend! You can come sit over here with the rest of us ignored folks. It's always lots of fun on the Group W bench! :goodvibes

The only way to really be ignored on the DIS is to not post at all, or -- probably worse -- to be obnoxious, combative, and nasty. Don't be shy about posting on ANY forum here, particularly if you can add to a discussion, or have a question that fits the topic. Just don't post for the sole reason of upping your post count. That's kinda gauche.

Mrs. Tex and I will be there in October, too, wearing lime green Mickey tags. If you see an old fart with a ponytail, a grey beard, and a lime green Mickey head, it's probably me. (It certainly won't be Mrs. Tex. She'll be the one I'm holding hands with.) We get there on the 6th, staying for 3 or 4 days depending on a conference.

Hi!!! October will be a fun time to go. You guys doing Food and Wine?

Hope you are checking out some of the other forums.....the folks on the Disney Resorts board are particularly nice.

Waving to you from Memphis, just a stone's throw away from you in Jonesboro!

:welcome: Hi! :wave2: I'll be your friend. Just keep posting. Skip around to the places that interest you and reply. I have noticed that it takes consistency on the boards to get people to start really 'talking' to you, but you should have that in no time.

You will love October at WDW! We are going back then, too and can't wait! :)

You'll love it here (most of the time...sometimes threads can get a bit touchy) but for the most part..... :disrocks:

I'll be your friend too. We are also going to be at WDW in OCtober. Oct. 12-21 maybe I will see you there.

:welcome:

Best way is to just read, especially on the other dis forums like Resorts, Strategies, Dining, etc., (since you have a Disney World trip planned) and jump right in there if you want to make a comment about something that is posted, or ask questions.

Where are you staying, op, for your October trip to WDW?

Don't be shy. No one else on here is shy about posting.:thumbsup2

I LOVE October. The weather is usually just about perfect. It's not as crowded. The Food & Wine Festival is in full swing.

I got married in October and we went to WDW for our hineymoon, stayed at the Beach Club. Loved it!

Where are you staying? Are you doing the F&W Fest? if you like to cook, you should look up the F&W Fest because they have guest chefs that hold cooking demonstrations and stuff.
