Be careful out there this morning

I almost wiped out this morning taking my daughter to school. It must have rained a bit during the night. My truck looked like it was just wet, but it was frozen. The roads looked fine, but as I rounded a curve, I lost control. My truck fishtailed almost broadside about 5 or 6 times until I finally got it under control. What a way to wake up. I cannot believe we did not go off the road. Someone was definitely helping us out there, no doubt about it. Please watch out for the black ice.

That funny weather must have moved East today. Yesterday, I got out of my truck in the parking lot and almost skidded right underneath the truck. Somehow I flew my body back towards the seat of the truck and both my legs slammed into the side of the truck. I don't know how I turned around so fast, but the parking lot was like an ice rink. I skated across the parking lot and went inside and called the salter. He said at 6:30 a.m. everything was fine. He said the wind must of picked up by 8:00 a.m. and glazed everything over. Schools 20 miles to the west of us were closed because of the black ice.

Black ice is the worst. It rained hard here last night (and the wind made it sound like a hurricane). It'll be another hour or so before we head out of here, but we're headed north, so who knows what the roads will look like

One of my best friends and co-workers died several years ago in a car accident due to black ice.

Please be careful! We do not have to worry about that here since it is already in the 40's and expected to get even warmer. Very strange winter, but I am not complaining!
