NEW YORK -- If you are visiting New York City, there is a good chance you are breaking some obscure law -- and you could get a ticket.
The New York Daily News reports that some New Yorkers are fuming over getting tickets for doing things that no one knew were against the law.
Here's a list:
-- An 86-year-old man got a ticket on April 18 for feeding pigeons in Morningside Heights, Manhattan.
-- Another man got a ticket a week ago because his license plate is framed by a car dealer's holder.
-- A tourist from Israel got a ticket for falling asleep on the subway and taking up more than one seat.
-- A man got a ticket Wednesday for putting his newspapers for recycling in a cardboard box, instead of tying them.
-- A couple in Brooklyn got a ticket because their car hung over their driveway by a couple of feet.
The Patrolmen's Benevolent Association has taken out ads saying that cops are just hard-working family members who are under pressure to write tickets.
