Be aware when purchasing APs online

Before we purchased our APs I called and spoke with a CM about purchasing APs. We are planning on our first trip of the year for November, but wanted to purchase them ahead of time in case of a price jump. We confirmed with the CM that our passes won't be active until we get they physical ticket at the main ticket booth.
I just logged in to Disneyland app and our APs are there and show the expiration date of 7/26/2018. We haven't used them yet, but it is already counting down our days. Be aware.

I would give Disney a call, that is definitely not what should be happening. When we purchased ours, our exp. date didn't start until we first entered Disneyland using the passes.

There were some other posts with the same issues, but were fixed. They should still be here on the first couple pages.

Yup, this has been going on since the beginning of time lol. Our first Premium AP's several years ago had the same thing. We had to have the start date moved up to our first day cause we bought them and started the monthly payments about 8 weeks before our first visit.

When you go to receive your AP in card form at the ticket booth on your first day, they will adjust the date to the date activated. It's a common issue.

This is true. BUT make sure to confirm with the CM that they've actually done it. Twice we've had CMs forget this part and had to go back.

The app has a weird glitch with tickets. I bought a 3-day park hopper and the expiration date in my confirmation email is in January 2019. In the app, the expiration date is in the middle of this month.

I've noticed that the date keeps moving 2 weeks out....which is consistent with it expiring 14 days from first use, if I were to use it today.

I'm not sure if APs have a similar glitch happening.

We went through that a couple of years ago when we had AP's.
We did nothing about it and it was automatically fixed when we finally used the tickets.
Nothing to worry about.

That is likely the day the voucher for your AP expires (at which point you would need to pay the cost of any price increases that took effect after your purchase date). We paid for our AP's last September and the voucher had a one year expiration, but our AP's were good for 13 months (we got an additional month as part of a promotion) from the day we activated them in December.
