Does anyone know if the release date for HSM3 is 'set in stone'? I really hope so - I just booked my dd-turning-5's birthday party there for the day after it is released. I called to talk to the theater about the costs and how they work parties - and I am SO EXCITED that I went ahead and booked it. It is WAY more money than I usually spend on birthdays (we usually do family maybe a couple friends just at home), but it is so perfect and her bday is Oct 21st so it works out so well that I decided to go for it and splurge for this one time. I will only allow her to bring 2 or 3 school friends, though. We have a few family friends plus her cousins that will be coming already - so there will be about 10 - 12 kids total.

Now, I already got adorable little purses on clearance for the girls favor. Any ideas what to put in them? I was thinking a lip gloss plus maybe some HSM stickers? For the boys...maybe a HSM folder or something with stickers in it?

Any other thoughts or ideas?

I'm just about as excited as dd is!!

SOOOO funny you posted this. My DD is turning 5 on the 24th...so guess what we are doing for her party?? She also had a HSM bday party last year (can you say obsessed). Walmart and Target had these little light up basketballs that I got the boys. I also got them all glow sticks/necklaces/etc. That could be kinda cool in the movie theatre.

I've seen it advertised quite a bit.

for favors for our HSM2 party I got large popcorn bags at $Tree to put things in. I bought microwave popcorn, and made covers. First I covered it in red paper, then printed out a pic of HSM kids, and wrote "Thank you for popping over to R's birthday!" I also had plastic basketballs from Miles Kimball that I filled with red and white M&Ms. Pencils with big baseballs on the top, and I made magnets. Just print out pix of HSM, glue them to construction paper and cut them out with a small border. Cover them in contact paper and glue a magnet to the back. ($Tree sells sheets of sticky back magnets.) Target $ spot has HSM pens and sticky notes, and some other cute things. I think $tree also had stickers. Have fun!

I LOVE the magnet idea. Thanks so much! I'm going to check out $tree for the sticky back magnets. I am so bummed that my laminator JUST broke - hopefully I'll get a new one before Oct. - that would have made making them a lot easier.

It is a newer obsession for my dd. But we are in full swing now. How much is it at your theater? Ours is 17.50 per kid - but it includes saving the seats (which will be big the day after opening - crowded), the movie, a 'snack pack' during the movie, pizza and drinks after the movie. Any adults are 8.50 each. Way more than my usual, but - I can't wait!

Same price at my theatre. But I told her that she could bring 5 friends to limit it! Last year we had the big party with 22 kids plus all their parents and it was really overwhelming for everyone. She only has two cousins her age so that means she could bring a couple of her little buddies. I know some of the parents will object to HSM so that limits some of the kids who will come.
