I thought that the BCV was a DVC resort but have learned that you can book through Disney to stay there. How does this work? Do Disney have control of certain rooms/floors?

Oops  just realised that I've posted in wrong forum could it be moved please?

We've always stayed at BCV...and we are not DVC members!! We love it there!!!

This year however, more people in the family are going...so we've outgrown the 1 bedroom villa. When we made reservations last July for our upcoming Dec. trip, no 2 bedroom villas were available. The agent told me they are hard to come by if you're not a member. We went ahead and booked a 1 bedroom and a studio. I asked if it was possible to get them connected, they said without being members it was highly unlikely....he said we get the "scraps". But we're still totally SYKED to go....being on the same floor would be nice!!!

You can book into any of the DVC resorts the same as for any Disney hotel, if there is availability. I believe that Disney withholds about 5% of the points (what DVC owners use to book their rooms) for use as cash reservations; also, if a DVC owner uses their points to book a cruise, or a vacation at a nonDVC resort either within Disney or elsewhere, the points they use go into a pool to be rented out to the public.

I am glad that you like te BCV's so much. We do to. Part of the reason why it would be hard for you to make a reservation for a two-bedroom villa for December in July is because that is a very popular time with DVC owners as you can imagine with all of the beautiful Christmas decorations at WDW. People who own at BCV can make their reservations eleven months out from December, and DVC members who own at other DVC properties but want to stay at the BCV's during December can try to book their at 7months out. So by the time that you made your request DVC reservations were booked and waiting lists were formed, but their is a seperate inventory for rental which I believe your reservation would fall under. I don't think those units are considered scraps. Perhaps you would have better luck if you tried a little earlier next year. I hope that you have a wonderful trip!
