Going to WDW for the first time in 12 years this fall, staying in a 1bedroom!! At first I thought we would request a pool/quiet view, but some say you will see the parking lot. And our my twin sons (age 9) going to miss seeing the fireworks on the Epcot side?? Is the road noise loud on this side?? We will be spending a lot of time at SAB, how far is the walk, should I be taking this into consideration?? What are your thoughts and what do you prefer?? DH and I will also be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and would love to enjoy a cocktail or two on the balcony!! Thank you!!! Thank you!! :D

Getting a room on the Epcot side of BCV is difficult under any circumstances, but you also stand a fair chance of seeing/hearing the road, which is very near the villas. I would much rather get a room overlooking Beach Club solarium, so that I can "people watch". I thought I wanted a pool view, until I realized that some of the rooms aren't near the pool at all, they are near the dunegrass. Now, some people may adore dune grass, but I live on Lake Michigan, and that dune grass is indigenous to our area. A dumpster view would be more welcome on a vacation! But no matter where your room is, your walk to SAB is only about three minutes--cut thru the solarium to the lobby, and go out near Beaches and Cream to the pool.

You will enjoy your vacation--if the weather is warm and sunny, who could complain? (we have had weeks of gloomy and cool weather here in the midwest);)

We had a room on the 5th floor overlooking the infamous cement oval

But we also had a fantastic view of the Spaceship Earth ball and of the evening fireworks at Epcot. We did not hear any road noise when we were in the room with the sliding glass doors closed, but if you are out on the balcony you will definitely hear the cars as they go by. For us it was OK because we were only out there for the fireworks anyways.

There was nothing like waking up to the pastel-lit "ball" in the morning, and seeing that great ball last thing before going to bed at night.

We had room 548 and it did not take too long to get to either of the two elevators (one near the Dunes quiet pool and the main one in the "lobby" of the BCV), and it didn't seem to take too long to get to SAB...WHEN we didn't get sidetracked shopping or gawking at the paintings in the lobby.

Hope you have a great anniversary and a great stay at BCV!!

natp,
Try adding rooms 420 or 429 to your request, both are 1BR, woods view, Illuminations view, quiet, close to elevators, valet parking, Atlantic Wear Store, ice and soda machines. Have a great sunrise view, see pic below taken from room 422 in Feb.

I don't know if I quite agree with the 3 minute walk to SAB but it's not very far. I did time a walk from International Entrance at EPCOT to my room 420 and it was 8 minutes taking the short cuts.
Have a great trip wherever you stay. And happy Anniversary!

We also love the spaceship earth and illuminations view. My kids are 5 and 7 and we love to come back to the room on some of the evenings, give them a bath and get ready for 9:00 to go out on the balcony watch the fireworks and then off to bed when the fireworks end. It works out well for us.

I am very happy just being home. I really don't care where they place me. last time we did have a pool view room, and it was very nice.

I would rather see the parking lot than to not be there at all. Wish I was there now.:smooth:

I'm going to be different here. We like the pool view. We were there in February and had the EPCOT view but were located on the first floor. It didn't do a lot for any of us. We have requested pool view for our next trip. I figure whatever floor we are on with the pool view will be okay.

I've not yet stayed at BCV, but I loved the pool view at VWL...I thought it would be loud, but it was not.

I asked for Epcot view for my Sept vacation at BCV.

When we were there in October, we had a view of the woods I guess...it was the area that you walk through when you kind of go out the back gate to the sidewlak that leads to Epcot.

When we were there in January, we had a view of the pool...actually we had a 1st floor room where we could walk out our patio doors and be right at the pool, which I thought was great!

I don't generally get all hyped up about view, because I don't spend a lot of time looking out the window etc, but maybe if I had a really nice view, I would.

We were in 352. The view of Spaceship Earth was totally great from the MBR. We could see the fireworks from Illuminations. The road noise only bothered us at night when the ? supply trucks would back up - we could hear the beep, beep, beep. It didn't really bother us. Frankly we aren't real opinionated about the view, and this was more than I hoped for. Have a great trip no matter what room...Sandie

I will be arriving this weekend for a stay at BCV. When I made my arangements through MS I requested an Illuminations view, My question is now should I do anything before I leave to increase my chances or just go down and hope I get lucky. I have heard of people calling or faxing down their requests days before they arrive, will this help or is it a waste of time.

We are going for the first time next March and did not request a particular view, just dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 queen beds in bedroom 2, no smoking, and upper floor. We do not want to hear road noise, although we are pretty used to it as our house is on a busy road LOL!!! We were told it will be woods view. Can anyone tell me, what is on the other side of the woods??

Just curious, why were you told it would be a woods view?

Epcot is on the other side of the woods, but you really don't get to see much of it. Some of the rooms do get to see illuminations.

Pool view. With a pool view, you will see the pool. With an "epcot" view, you may not see much of Epcot (fireworks, etc.)

My favorite is the woods view (think it was the same as Disney Doll). However, when I called MS the last 2 times (once to make ressies, then to change dates), both times I was told that there's no such thing as a woods view at BCV! I was given only 3 choices-Epcot view, pool view, or courtyard view. I took courtyard, and the second CM I spoke with said that was her favorite view. So we'll see what I end up with. I don't think I'll be unhappy anywhere as long as I hear WS music like I did last time.
