Hi

Planning our next trip for [edit: later this year] and am looking into renting points. It will be me, DH and our 6 year old son.

Need help deciding where to stay, would love to try Beach Club Villa but not sure about transportation issues, etc. I know pool is great, but ok for little one? Have stayed at both WL and AKL and loved both. Hubby wants WL and I love AK, so any opinions, thoughts, etc.

We will also be there during last week of F&W Festival, hoping it won't be too crowded and though BC would be very convenient.

So tell what you think, I can always count on my DIS friends. Thanks!

If you want BCV during that time period, you need to make contact with a BCV owner very, very soon. It's among the smallest of the DVC resorts, and many BCV owners bought there because they wanted the 11-month window for the Food and Wine Festival. It books up very quickly. I've tried many times to get a BCV reservation inside the 7-month window and have never had any success.

This won't help, but you'll be fine with any of the three. I personally wouldn't choose VWL because I don't like the theme, but I know that many people are more than happy with this resort. My personal favorite is BCV because of the pool, but have never tried it with a little one. Also, we frequented Epcot the most so it would make sense why I find it so appealing. Lastly, AKL is a gorgeous resort, but with a little one, try to request Jambo House-- I think it's easier with the full service restaurants and whatnot.

The Beach Club is extremely kid-friendly.:goodvibes
The pool there is probably the best one in all of WDW.
There is a special sand-bottom kiddie pool that is zero entry, and lots of sand & buckets & shovels to play with. :beach:
The staff does activities with the kids in the afternoon...
There are Disney moviespopcorn:: every night on the beach...:3dglasses
It is heaven on earth!:cloud9:

Being close to Epcot (our room was a 90 second fast-walk from the International Gate) means you get to see more stuff in less time and can easily go back to your room for a nap if you want. Plus you are close to all the Board Walk stuff- :woohoo:bakery, shopping, restaurants, not to mention a short boat-ride to DHS.

Have fun planning your trip!

I love BCV more than any of the other DVC properties but I agree, I've had my Food and Wine reservation at BCV since day 1 of the 11 month mark when I could book it. Everything may be booked there already but you could perhaps get the member you are renting points from to waitlist there for you.

The pool there is amazing but depending on the strength of your young swimmer, there are parts of it that are dangerous. Our 4 year old grandson swims almost daily here at home and is an excellent swimmer but there were parts of SAB that were just too much for him. He wanted more than the kiddie pool but wasn't really ready for the strong current in the "not so lazy" river. All of the pool activities are great here.

This post is probably better suited fro the DVC Planning Board where you will get the most accurate information about renting points and so forth.

And I'm sure you'll get some great opinions on the various choices as well. I'll be moving this there.

Thanks,

Knox
