I am taking my DS8 to Disney World 06/01 to 06/05. It has been about 12 years since I braved summer crowds,:headache: but I want to try it since it's getting harder and harder to take him out of school. I was able to snag a standard view studio for BWV for that time. :lovestruc DS didn't seem impressed. :rolleyes1 He loves to swim and since I am not going with DH (at least, I don't think) I'm a little hesitant to take him to a water park by myself. From what I am hearing, the BWV pool doesn't get rave reviews from little ones.

My multi-part question: If I waitlist for a BCV studio do you think I have a snowball chance in - - of getting it?? Or should I waitlist for AKV where we stayed one night in October and he loved it, but I'm staying there with a friend in December? Is the Luna pool that uninteresting?

Thanks everyone. Hope I don't seriously regret doing a June trip. :guilty:

We're BCV owners but we enjoyed Luna pool last time we were there. The slide kept my 9,8,&7 yo amused and the lifeguards were leading them in water activities! Stormalong Bay is much larger, though.

I wouldn't shy away from a water park - Typhoon Lagoon is probably best for an 8yo and even if you don't like water slides (and there are some tame ones) you would enjoy the wave pool with him. Give it a chance!

My eight and nine year old love the Luna Park pool. I wouldn't take the two of them to SAB at this age, that pool gives me "Mom willies" with young kids.

That's a good point. The only reason I don't want to take him to a water park is because of "Mom willies" :goodvibes I suspect if I failed to return home with him, my DH wouldn't be very happy with me. :rolleyes1

It's good to hear that lots of children enjoyed the Luna pool. I love BWV so I was estatic, DS not so much.

Plus, the Community Hall at BWV gets good reviews from people here. Now, if you have the extra points, and personally don't mind BCV, I would waitlist there. If you get it, it would probably earn you some points with your DS.

Bobbi:goodvibes

my newphews (around your DS's age) greatly prefer luna park over SAB (i think a big reason is that it's less crowded so easier to swim & play without bumping into anyone. they also loooooooove the scary clown slide:scared1: lol).

If you are comfortable having your DS on his own at SAB, he probably will love it. I would be reluctant to do that with an 8 year old, but I am a nervous Nelly. Your DS may find he likes the Luna slide and hanging out at Community Hall. And it seems that the 8 year old crowd LOVES the entertainers on the BW at night.

I'm definitely a "high strung" mother so I probably wouldn't relax at SAB. I just showed him pictures of the Luna Pool and he thinks it looks "awesome." His exact words. :thumbsup2 Crisis averted. :goodvibes

My then DD10 loved the CH. She kept begging to play air hockey. There is ping pong and fooseball too. Also loved the boardwalk entertainers.

I'm with Crisi as well about SAB. Unless you are able to stick with you son the whole time it will be stressful. (ratio of one-to-one, parent-to-child ratio is nice) This is coming from someone who likes to swim with their kids not sit in a lounge. But it is a very cool pool.
