We are trying to decide on a resale purchase in the near future. I see the price of BC is quite a bit higher than BW. Why is that. What is the difference between the two.

They are both at nearly the same location, and the units shouldn't be that different.
Plus BW has the standard view which seems to give you more bang for your buck.

Is it only because of SAB. Does a pool have that much of an influence?

I've never been to either, so maybe it would be more obvious if I saw them.

Just wondering since its hard to justify the additional cost, but so many people seem to like BC, that I was wondering if I was missing something.

It's just supply and demand. BCV is six years newer, has SAB, and is somewhat closer to Epcot. Also because of the newness it has fewer resales available. I own there and love it, but no I don't think you should have to pay $95/pt for a resale there. I wouldn't blame you at all for going with BWV, which is also very nice (and much closer to MGM!)

There's also less units at BCV from what I understand. SAB is a draw, but not the main. I think it is the scarcity of rooms and a sense of 'exclusivity' that drives BCV up higher than BWV. It is what it is - BWV in my opinion is a much better deal. Your points can go further, your in the same location, etc...

We actually prefer BWV. The pool is not that imporatnt to us and the view from the Boardwalk View rooms is stupendous. The view from BCV not so much, in my opinion.

Depends on what is important to you.

I agree full heartly with "mikesmom". I own at BCV also but perfer the BWV views.:rolleyes1

BCV does have some dedicated 2 bedrooms...which BWV does not have. All of BWV's 2 bedrooms are lock offs. This is a point in BCV's favor as far as I'm concerned. However, not all of BCV's dedicated 2 bedrooms have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom, so that does negate the advantage to some extent. What that means however, is that it's much harder to get a dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 queens in the second bedroom if you don't own at BCV...but not impossible.

We had the choice of BCV or BWV when we were buying from Disney, and we chose BWV because of the point structure. We have added on points and so far have resisted the pull of buying BCV, we enjoy staying there every so often. If we had been younger when we bought in, I think we would have bought some BCV as well.

I had narrowed my choices to BWV and BCV. BCV has SAB
which is great for kids but my daughter is 13,so I figured since I liked the look of BWV more, that's what DH bought.
It's really a very personal decision-like buying a house or clothing. What appeals to me won't necessarily appeal to you.

My personal take is that - unless YOU like SAB - the sweet spot for SAB for kids is sort of short.

When they are young it is a much better pool - zero entry. BWVs pool is DEEP and the kiddie pool is BORING.

The moment it becomes hard to watch them, until you stop worrying about them near water, its a horrible pool.

Then its a cool pool again - until it gets completely overshadowed by waterparks.

However, I suspect resale prices reflect that I overthink such things and most people don't think "its a horrible pool to watch a 7 and 9 year old in!!!" It is a very cool pool, and I think that overshadows its grey hair creating potential for most.

I think the major reason is supply and demand as stated earlier BCV only has to be slightly more popular

I own at both and it really does not matter, they are both wonderful. You could go through all the pluses and minuses and in the end they are the same.

SAB could be outwighed by a comunity hall, Boardwalk Entertainers, Boardwalk Views, Lower point costs......

Trust me they are the same so go with the cheaper one, BWV.

Sounds like exactly the thought process we went through... and therefore bought BWV.

Lower buy-in cost, lower points for some rooms, still Epcot location, guaranteed views.

Also, we walked through both resorts before buying, and BWV just spoke to us somehow. Not a logical reason, I suppose, but then again I guess the place that you have committed to for 35 yrs should do that. :)

I do hear BCV can be quieter than BWV, esp BW views, if that is an issue for you... we are night owls that can sleep through anything, so that isn't one for us.

We have only stayed at BW views first year we were in 2br on 2nd floor right over the Big River Brewery and as long as the balcony doors were shut we didn't really here anything.

Does parking play any factor into it for anyone? I notice BCV's lot is a lot closer to the building while BWV is all across the bridge. Folks who don't like valet parking may prefer BCV's lot location.

Not a major factor (I presume SAB is the major pull here), but perhaps one of those little things that add up.

If it's any help to you here is my opinion: I chose the BWV over BCV because of the amount of rooms. I wanted to have an easier time at getting the room I wanted when I reserve my vacation. If i need a studio for a trip, there are more studios at BWV. The point structure is a great selling point as well. Views are not what my family cares about as we are usually in the parks from open to close.

Just an FYI: I have never stepped foot on either property, but I purchase BWV with ease, knowing that the location to epcot and MGM would be approximately the same with either resort.

we bought at the BW because we love the Boardwalk views and the Grand villas. The pool was not an issue as I am one of the only people who dislikes SAB. It is always hard to find a seat and very difficult to watch children. The pool at the BW suits us fine but like someone said its really a very personal decision like buying a house. They are all wonderful in their own way but some speak to your sense of home more than others. You really can't go wrong with either one. I also own a small add on at AKV because I love watching animals. the remote location doesn't appeal to me for a long stay but a lovely couple of days post BW trip sounded like a great way to relax.

We own at BCV. You cannot wrong with either. Our reason for BCV are simple:

1) Epcot
2) Peace and Quiet
3) Storm along bay
4) The restaurants at BCV is great for kids and the Yacht club restaurants are more upscale. Perfect combination without the long waits somtimes at BWV.
5) Just like the small resort feel, heck of a lot less walking after a long day at the parks

Purchase cost is a small portion of total cost. The difference in dues is more important in long term ownership. BCV is a smaller resort with very high demand, thus the higher price. However dues are lower and they have SAB.

I purchased BWV, mainly because that was the only resort on sale at the time:)

We like the flexability in the standard, perferred/Boardwalk points and nothing like sitting on your balcony and watching Wishes at MK off in the distance and Illuminations with a Boardwalk view (at least the rooms we've had).
