Just wondering if construction has begun, is delayed, etc. We're going in Sept.
about VWL, lol.

All reports coming from the resort CM's is that it is delayed.

Thank-you, Kathy. Selfishly hoping the construction is put off until our trip is over. We've been at resorts before-I believe the last time BC was revamped and then last year when the WL pool was refurbished. The pool wasn't a big deal except had I reserved a pool view room and I had bragged to my family about how beautiful the WL pool is, lol.

Well, we're also selfishly hoping the refurbishment is put off until after January, at least after Marathon weekend. We'll be staying there, and since DH is doing the Dopey, he'll be resting in the afternoon. Don't want any "magic-making" construction noises. The resort has needed refurbishment for so long that I really don't care about a few more months.

Does anyone else find is really unusual that there is so little information on the BCV refurb delay? We are booked for Christmas and I'm wondering if I should change to another resort. Really really don't want to but don't want construction either.

Seems VERY quiet! Typically guests who have stayed will post as to status and what they may have heard when they have stayed recently.
All I have read on these boards is that the renovation has been "delayed". :confused:Anyone stay at BCV lately and "hear anything" about renovation status. TIA!:goodvibes

I'll be there starting the 15th. Will do some investigating and report back!

BWV studio's ....Getting pull down trundle beds ???????

Just returned 2 bedroom dedicated, 368. No refurb anywhere at the Villas. But 1st floor Beach Club, almost every room along side walk way to Epcot, completely torn apart. Was watching them with wheel barrels of I think, tile and grout pushed along side walk.

HOPE that you had a great time. :cheer2:Did you "overhear" anyone speaking about predicted start date of BCV?:confused3TIA!:goodvibes

We are staying in October and I emailed the other day requesting a renovated room if one was available for our stay to see what they would say since the only official word I had gotten was a letter saying they would be refurbishing during our stay. They replied that the refurbishment would not affect our room type (one bedroom villa) and was only going to be adding a 5th person option to the studios. The response was totally surprising since I thought the refurb was was a hard goods refurb that would involve all of the villas. The mystery thickens....

Doesn't sound like the CM knows much. It is true that the biggest change is adding the murphy bed to the studios, but all of the villas will be remodeled. It was announced at the annual meeting in December 2014 with hard to see photos.

I heard they are waiting until next year to resume renovations That was from the head of housekeeping

From the replies I have been hearing on the VWL renovations threads it sounds like a fair number of guests were moved to BCVs. Maybe instead of releasing all of the held villas for remodel, DVC used them to move some of the guests from VWL. It would be a real faux pas if those folks that moved from VWL to avoid construction noise to end up with at BCV in the middle of a remodel, so I highly doubt that through Marathon weekend that the construction will start again.

Here is the exact quote from my email:

"We show that you will be staying in a 1 Bedroom Villa at the resort. The
scheduled work was delayed and a new start date has not been announced.
The work would only have taken place in the Deluxe Studios to add a 5th
sleeper in the rooms so your reservation would have been unaffected."

To me, that sounds like the refurb plans have been changed to only include studios. I have no idea if this is correct but you would think they would be anticipating these questions and have correct answers. Doesn't really matter to us since the refurb has been delayed past our trip dates but I do think they need to let members know exactly what is be done even if they can't give us exact start dates.

I think you just got a play down (or downplay I guess?) about the refurb. I could guess that they are getting some disappointed comments from people who are learning that the refurb is delayed when they expected it to be done by Dec.

I thought the bcv refurb was delayed because of the wlv refurb. They can't have two refurbishments going on at the same time and putting that many rooms out if service. I'm sure the wlv refurb is going to really impact availability over the next year. Wlv is not scheduled to be done until 2017. I'll be booking at my 11 month window for 2016 because things are going to be tight at the 7 month window. I predict SSR and okw will even be hard to get a the 7 month window.
